Cute and Serves Its Purpose
Love my new water bowl! Since the bowl is sturdy and has depth, it prevents it from moving when in use. It also helps prevent the water from splashing everywhere since it is elevated and the back is enclosed. For me, I don't really care for the design, but my girlfriend loves it and thinks its the cutest thing in the world (one of the reason why we got it)Only thing is it is ceramic. I don't know how long ceramic will last but the built seems to be of quality and it was packaged well. For the price you can't go wrong but will update my review once I use it longer to see how it lasts. For now, I will give it 5 stars for the built quality, usefulness, and how cute it is (per my girlfriend).

Love the Big Head water bowl
My seven cats have three choices of "watering holes" in different locations to encourage them to drink plenty of water. The stainless steel bowl in the most popular location wasn't large enough and had to be filled twice daily. Not often but sometimes I would forget, and by nightfall, it would be bone dry. (They still have two more water bowls, and neither has ever gone dry. Still I intend to keep water in all three bowls at all times.)Large capacity water bowls for cats aren't that easy to find. I've looked for a suitable replacement, in pet stores and online, without success, and decided to widen my search. Other than stainless steel and glass, I know ceramic bowls harbor less bacteria than plastic. Then I found ViviPet and learned about whisker stress, which helped me understand certain feeding behaviors I had observed. The ViviPet Big Head water bowl is perfect for my cats - and me! First, it relieves whisker stress, and all seven cats like it. Sometimes there's a "line" of one or two more cats waiting their turn! Second, ceramic is bacteria resistant, so it's a good choice for pet bowls, as long as it's "food safe". I like that ViviPet bowls are made to FDA standards. Third, not only does it hold over 3 cups of water, I can easily carry that much without spilling, due to the bowl design. Now I can rinse and refill the bowl just once a day for my cats. There's still enough water left I could go longer between refills, but with seven cats, looking for changes in food, water, and poop habits helps me identify more quickly when something is "off". Last, it's just such a cute bowl!If you're like me and found the "mixed" customer reviews confusing, this may help. The "Color" drop-down for ordering offers different color choices, PLUS two different bowls: the small Q bowl, not meant for use as a water bowl, and the Big Head water bowl, which meets my cats' needs while giving me more time between refills.

Cute but regret buying
Basically a big bowl shaped as a cat head. My Persian gets his chest wet, or should say drinched in water when drinks. I was doing research on how to help the little guy out when I came across these bowls. They are very cute and I had high hopes that maybe my Gizzy could stay dry. The big water bowl is just that a bowl and he still walks away dripping water down his chest. My other cats refuse to use it. I imagine sticking your head into this enclosed bowl may seem odd to them. I also got the pedestal food dish which is smaller and on an angle. I use that as a water dish and decided to see how the water bowl panned out as a food dish. The angle and height of the food dish helped reduce about 75% of the drinched chest. Only the dish is made for food and does not hold much water. I have to stay on top of making sure it's filled. I'm considering added several more dishes. Putting food into the water bowl was a big flop. All 3 of my cats don't like the idea and if I want peace in the house I use their old dishes. Thinking my daughter's dogs maybe will use. Lol Expensive bowl for just cute. Im off to go purchase some grooming clippers, because at this point I don't know what to do except clip his chest hair off. Suggestions?????

Two out of Three cats love it, the other one is scared of it
Pros:Seems very sturdyHolds a lot of waterSlightly elevated and tiltedWide enough to avoid whisker fatigueTwo of our three cats love itCons:One cat is scared of it and refuses to drink out of it, probably because it is so deep. The tilt can be deceiving so when filling it up at the sink I often put too much water and then it spills over the front when I set it on the floor.I wish the elevation was about two inches higherI should have returned it but waited too long to see if the third cat would adjust to it and missed the return window. Over a month later and he still won't drink out of it.

Unexpected benefits!
My kitty was previously a stray and has had a hard time adjusting to eating and drinking out of bowls. Even with heavier bowls and a non skid mat underneath, he still managed to tip them over. This bowl is very substantial and I don't see how he could tip this over. I was a little worried that he would not want to drink out of it, but so far so good.My kitty is also deaf and wears a Tile that hangs down from his collar. A trip to the water bowl meant the Tile was taking a dip in water bowl every time and it would usually not last longer than 9 to 12 months. I'm not sure why, but the Tile seems to be getting dunked in the water way less now. I really was not thinking about the Tile when I bought this bowl but I'm glad it's getting wet less and I'm hopping it lasts longer now.

The ONLY water bowl stronger than my cat!
FINALLY a water bowl that works for my cat! My cat loves to push her water dishes around, which of course results in water spilling everywhere. I tried multiple different bowls and non-slip mats, whatever I could, but nothing stopped her from pushing the bowl (She’s about 14 lbs and pretty strong.) I had gone to the pet store to get a dog bowl, but even those seemed too weak (most were plastic with a rubberized bottom). One day, I saw someone recommend this product in a cat group on social media. It took me a while to decide to buy it because of its price, but I’m so glad I did! I have had it for about a year now and there hasn’t been a single spill! My cat hasn’t been able to move it more than a centimeter, although she has occasionally been able to rotate it 90°.If you have had similar struggles, definitely give this bowl a try! Additionally, the purple color is true to the photo and is very pretty.

Big water bowl for big cats
Having two Maine coon cats, a large water bowl is definitely needed. I always had a problem with water spillage from the previous water bowl as one of my cats likes to paddle with this front paws. This larger bowl has solved this problem - it’s deep enough that he can still dip his feet in but not splash the water onto the floor.

very attractive plus the cats like it
The cats prefer this design, i think it keeps the water more shaded.

Quality not as expected, not for scaredy cats
For the price, I was expecting better quality. Parts of the bowl were not glazed, leaving the ceramic exposed. The bowl itself if nicely made, and unlike another bowl by Vivipet, is well balanced so there was no concern about it tipping over.It does not hold a lot of water due to its shape, which didn't really matter, because my cat did not want to stick its head into it in order to drink from it. Back to a cheap, "normal" ceramic bowl we went (in addition to a pet fountain that's on the main floor).

so the reduced whisker stress from this big bowl is wonderful. Great product
Our cat has a large head (rescued tom, neutered late), so the reduced whisker stress from this big bowl is wonderful. Great product.
