I purchased to assist in making wood spoons. I already had the 25mm #7 sweep. I really enjoy both of them. Very sharp. Perfect tools for this hobby. I also bought a strop to maintain sharpness after every spoon.

This is a quality tool. Aside from coming sharp and it is very solid in its construction. The metal can withstand some heavier work when shaping out wood cups. I lost the first one I had like this and aside from higher end ones, this is one of the best for this price range.

I bought this gouge to carve wooden spoons and bowls. The gouge is very well made and sharp, ready to use out of the box. It arrived quickly and was very well wrapped inside the box. I have already used it to bowl out a spoon and a spatula. I found the sweep and mm size to be quite nice for spoons and spatulas. I have small hands and It is still comfortable to use with your hand wrapped around the metal towards the edge. You will need to oil frequently. I used it every day for 3 days without oiling and I noticed some very small surface rust spots.
