Paper thin, cookie cutter story. Basic horn dog of a Mc that goes straight to looking at tits and ass.

This book reads like a bad teen fantasy. The MC is shallow rude and just a a$$. He treats the woman like meat. There seem to be no direction in the story. I get its slice of life but there is no point. He is given everything and just become arrogant and rude. Why have a vullage with all woman when other towns or villages have men. The gods seem to kill off the men with some nasty painful sickness.. For what reason. All excuse to make the MC and he quickly becomes unlikable and arrogant. Hard pass on more for this series..

I usually refuse to leave bad reviews but there's no way this book should be rated as highly as it is.To start apparently the women in the village just accepted that their dad's, their husband's, and their brothers were all murdered by their goddess os she would give them a "savior" when they aren't even in danger of anything they can't solve on their own. Not to mention the MC just accepts it and doesn't really have any doubts.The MC is ridiculous and talks in ways that nobody who has any friends or ever were to be around actual women would ever speak. I mean the discussion on whether the women of the town were allowed to sleep with each other or not could've been a "yes go for it have fun" instead it was and I quote "munch on each other's pussies". Yeah because any woman ever would be ok with that statement, most guys wouldn't agree with saying that to women.Then there's the ridiculous "fight scenes". They aren't fights they mostly executions with the MC finding stupid ways to torture them before he murders them. At one point he rips a dudes junk off and makes him eat it. In front of his new wife, his fiance, and another woman. Instead of being disgusted as they should they instead celebrate then for psychopathic levels of unnecessary torture when he could kill them and be done with it. And after all this one woman says can we leave the smell of blood is making me nauseous.Terrible read without and plot line. People who speak like the robot on your phone. And just overall twisted and not in a good way.

This was a fun story to read. The characters were done well and the storyline was interesting too. This book does contain adult scenes and probably covers multiple male fantasies

It gets a second star because the grammar wasn't too bad. Otherwise?This is everything I dislike about the genre in one book. I couldn't even finish.The main character is quite frankly a dude dudebro douchebag. Some slight spoilers here if you remotely care. He has to pick a woman up at the bar who's rather well off right away to establish he has no problem with the ladies. One second of tension with another douche, but he's the bad guy because he can't even clear the hurdle of consent.Typical getting stuck in another world, another brief moment of tension but this isn't the only author that doesn't know how a big cat... cats? The cat totally would've killed him otherwise so...Oh so that to, congratations, our God killed all our men in a gruesome way for...reasons.But they were TOTALLY fine with it!Yep, his job is to breed all the women folk, though we're going to cast an infertility spell because... he might be too good at that job otherwise?More "alpha male" shenanigans, oh and another no tension fight, picking up another wife (why get to know them first amirite?)Cause what's to know? They're all the equivalent of real dolls that move for him.Oh then because, dudebros, gotta have the random homophobia moment. Yes threats of man on man sexual assault, that'll add some tension... no not really.If you just want to read some complete ridiculous wish fulfillment with random mediocre smut, this is the book for you. Hard pass for me.

The plot kind of meanders along, with little ethos from the MC to give it any kind of end goal or drive. He learns about all the men being killed pretty much on a whim by the goddess of the town, and he just accepts it. That is awful. That is basically a divine massacre. He doesn't realize how messed-up that is, or even voice an objection to it internally. Moreover, because the villagers were so whipped by this goddess, even the men willingly accepted their fate. That right there is cult thinking, the kind of compliance the Heaven's Gate people were infamous for.So, right off the bat the situation is messed up, but from there we get nothing that resembles a plot. I get that it's supposed to be slice-of-life, but even family dramas or sitcoms have SOME kind of dilemma that needs solving. All the MC seems to care about is getting his willy wet. He doesn't seem to contribute anything new to this community, no new ideals, inventions, philosophies, or techniques. He's effectively a more efficient peon from Warcraft III.If you want a better version of thia story, I recommend the Herald of Shalia series. It's like this, except the overpowered MC has to navigate cutthroat politics, invaders, AND horny women, not just the latter. Plus, unlike this story, he is presented with obstacles that can actually challenge him and put him and his subjects in danger. The only edge that this Shifter King has over that story is Shifter King has minotaur women complete with minotaur strength, plus a more limited set of powers for the MC. Hence, it gets an extra star.

A great book that kept the page turning. Ecxited for book 2 and hope the author hurries up with it.

This one was a fun read that didn't take itself too seriously... good to see a new series come out from Mr. Beck. I'm looking forward to more like this.

Take out the sex and you are left with about half the book. Take out the stupid conversations and you have a few pages to read. I kept reading to the end, skimming the porno parts hoping it would get better. Nope, have to say one of the worst books I have read.

A fantastic start to what looks like being a brilliant series. Good characters, good plotlines and plenty of action along with a few laughs. Can't wait for the next one.

This book is readable but basic. Not much happens he gets bored puts in sex scenes... I'm a big fan of fire mage so was disappointed with this book
