AWESOME - 7200 RPM with 256mb cache
Was hunting for a robust 7200 rpm NAS drive and this was the only one available- Bought 2 of them and happy with my investment . Studies the features and found the reason for the fast performance - its a 7200 rpm with 256mb of Cache

So far so good
Works as expected, it's installed in a small desktop NAS device that runs 24/7. the drive seems fast and quiet.

Works well, but kinda noisy
Bought 4x 6tb N300 to feed a 4-bay NAS (Synology DS920+)Installed and worked like a charm, but the head movement can be heard when they move. Being configured as RAID5, the whole lot always move when reading and writing so it's a bit noisy.Despite the fact that the NAS is in the livingroom, It's not impossible to live with. It's a media server, if they're in use there is sound so that's not dramatic, but it's a stark change from me previous drives (which the NAS seemed not to like because they stop by themselves, being Green..)Rated 5 stars because it's not Toshibas' fault where I place the drives, they work!I tend to find that my previous, WD-Green 4Tb where faster in the same circumstances, but that might just be me...

Excellent drive for NAS
I have had real good luck with these Toshiba drives. I actually own six of them. When I first purchased my Nas, I had went with the iron Wolf drives because they were supposed to be the best. In less than one month all four iron Wolf drives we're having issues such as excessive vibration. This was all reported by the iron Wolf software on the NAS. I switched to Toshiba drives and haven't had an issue since. My Nas was reporting sector errors on one drive, so I ordered two drives. One as a replacement and one as a backup. The defective drive I sent back to Toshiba and it is under warranty. I will be getting my money back for that drive. I highly recommend these drives over the Iron Wolf from Seagate. I have never liked Seagate drives and the issues I had with their Iron Wolf drives further solidified my dislike. I was always a Western digital/Maxtor drive user. Toshiba has definitely changed that. These drives are fast and reliable as well as extremely quiet.

Be forewarned: Different model number comes in the box than what is written on the outside
I have a QNAP and a Synology NAS. HDWG160XZSTA is Compatible with both NAS, however, a different model number come, than what is written on the box: HDWG160UZSVA is not on either companies approved list of drives. I returned one set, the second set has the same issue. I did try the first set of drives, they were not recognized by the NAS.This is not really the fault of the drive, I'm sure they work just fine in the correct application.
