Also got two bonus emergency whistles. Lights come with batteries already installed, PLUS extra batteries for each. Excellent deal. Just not positive on the waterproofing, as have not tried them out on the kayaks yet.

Went on a kayak trip in Everglades for three days. Third day woke up to dense fog and we had to navigate by compass/dead reckoning. I had bought these on a whim before trip not knowing I'd need them.I am glad we did. We hooked them up straight out of the package to our boats. I'm not sure that in the fog we were in they did much good if an idiot in a powerboat was out, but if it had been clear and at night, it certainly would have worked well. Better safe than sorry.Just remember which side green and red go on.

I used these twice and one light has already died on me. Noticed condensation inside the cover so water may have gotten in and shorted it out while paddle boarding However, the price is right and I just replaced the dead light with the one from the second set. They included a replacement batteries and a whistle so even though I’m disappointed the price to value ratio seems right. If all the lights die, I’ll probably reorder another set because I like the way they are elastic and easily connect with a clip
