Handy ssd cloning tool, can even be used as a dual ssd enclosure, works great, can get a bit hot after extended use, thermal strips help this but did not use as was cloning a couple of drives.

I put a Samsung 970 Evo in it.Originally it didn't work, with Windows throwing an "Invalid operation" error.This is down to the way the drive latches in, you have to push the drive into the connector farther than you think it needs to go, then snap it into the plastic latch.Once working, it's fast enough to saturate USB 3.0.Samsung, and a few other manufacturers, use a heatsink label on their drives. I didn't install the included silicone/metal heatsink, and it hasn't been a problem, but if your drive has bare chips it should be installed.

This compact SSD enclosure works very well for me. When I purchased it a few weeks ago, it was under $16 but is now $25. That 65% price increase cost it one star in this review. It worked easily and is truly "no tools required." I had the MVMe installed in under a minute. I did not measure the speed but it is very quick. I cloned a 72GB start up drive in a matter of seconds. It happened so quick that I thought initially that the clone had failed because it didn't take long enough..... wrong! It had done a perfect job of it. My only real complaint is the included cables. They are stiff. The tiny enclosure will end up wherever the cable puts it and not always where you want it to be. Other than that, it suits my purpose well.

I purchased the Unitek M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure for $19.99 USD on a sale. I needed an enclosure to help recover and transfer client’s data for my tech support business. It can feel a little tight fitting an 80mm M.2 drive in the enclosure, but it does stay put and exits with relative ease. You do not need any screwdrivers or tools to open the enclosure or insert M.2 sticks, and the entire process can be done in a few seconds once you get the hang of it.My only complaint is the small USB-C 3.0 cables, which are roughly three to four inches (7-10cm) long. Not a major show-stopper, but something to keep in mind to avoid having your enclosure dangle off the side off a desktop.I’ve tested this thus far on a WD Black SN750 Gen 3, Samsung 980 Pro Gen 4, and an old Samsung MZ-VLB2560. None of the drives had any issues. I used my Windows 10 laptop and the enclosure detected right away without needing to search for drivers.

Easy to install both drives. Easy setup for file transfer. Failed today after about 5 months of use. Very unsatisfied. Will not buy from this brand again.

Works well ... gets a little hot, but works well

This worked on both USB-C to USB-C as well as USB-C to USB-A on all USB ports I have tried (2.0 and 3.0). Other enclosures wouldn't work bcos they required too much power and the computer wouldn't initialize it. It does get warm but not uncomfortably so. Speeds on the USB-A port is about 270 write and 430 read using an older 256gb Toshiba THNSN5256GPUK m-key NVMe drive I pulled from an upgraded Dell XPS laptop. It was 300/900 using USB-C to USB-C cable. This was using AJA System Test 2.1 and the settings were 4GB file, 16bit RGB and 4096x1714 4K res. bcos these are the type of files I'd be transferring regularly. A better SSD would definitely yield better results.

While using this adapter samsung migration software was unable to recognize the drive in the adapter as a samsung and as a result I had to use alternative cloning software.Adapter was pretty warm after the cloning process was complete, but not to scalding levels.Also first time installation is a bit tricky.

The enclosure is good quality, but needs better instructions. I'm not sure how others got their drives to work or if it worked automatically for them or not...but here's what I had to do. Installing my ssd in the case was not a problem, but getting the drive to work in Windows was...when I plugged in the case to my PC it said the drive was installed and I could see it in my devices, but not under My PC...ie. I couldn't see it as a drive in My PC...like Local Disk(C:). So...I was not able to access it to format the drive. The drive needed to be activated...so here's how I did mine. I downloaded a free drive format tool called "IM-Magic Partition Resizer" and used it to activate the ssd and boom MAGIC...I could then format drive from that tool or in Windows My PC, which I could now see my Drive(F:). I hope this helps others if they have any problems...CHEERS!!!

This is among the slimmest NVMe enclosures I've owned and its slimless doesn't hinder its cooling as the vents at the side allow heat to radiate away from the SSD keeping it cool.Getting the SSD in took a little bit of elbow grease but I didn't worry I was going to break anything and I don't plan on swapping it out any time soon or on a regular basis.The enclosure doesn't feel like a major bottleneck when writing to or reading from the SSD so I'm extremely pleased with its performance.

I needed this enclosure to copy some data from my NVMe drives and it works like a dream.The drive is easy to install in the enclosure and due to its construction, I feel as it is very secure in it. No tools are necessary to install the drive which is the cherry on the top. Data were copied fast and since then, this enclosure is part of my go-to items in my toolbox.Cheap and cheerful!
