Works Well in Hamilton Beach Senseo Maker! But with a catch!
Just recently purchased the Hamilton Beach Personal Cup Stay or Go POD Brewer (Item model number: 49990) over the more popular brands because of the lower price point. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase because if I don't want to brew a large amount of coffee, I can brew a cup or two conveniently and swiftly with these Ecopads and the Hamilton Beach. Although the Senseo pods are pretty reasonable priced, they don't quite come in the varieties at the Keurig (but also don't come at their high prices too). So these Ecopads are a great solution! There's just a catch though... if you use regular coffee with a semi-coarse grind, the coffee comes out pretty weak and diluted. To work around this, you'll need to get the coffee a fine grind and a dark roast to get it just right. I believe these compensates for the reduced amount of water that passes through the filter to make 1 cup of coffee. I haven't tried this in a wide range of coffees yet (since I just got it). But I've tried it very successfully with some Vietnamese coffee... as mentioned earlier, this is due to it's fine grind and dark roast. Lastly, this is a bit off topic but for those of you that are curious as to which coffee I used, it was Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee. Excellent stuff!

Coffee is BITTER.
I have NEVER written a review before…good or bad…but I am so pissed at the money I spent to get this horrible product that I need to warn people. It’s about the bad taste. We used a Senseo coffee maker while in Europe this past summer. Loved the coffee, the crema on top, and how easy it was to use. Couldn’t wait to get home and get one. I carefully read every single Amazon review and although there were some negative reviews the positive seemed to win over and several people like myself had said they tried a Senseo in Europe and loved it….so I invested the $150.00 plus lots of coffee pods = about $200.00. After 2 months of trying every single combination of large cup, small cup, double pods, single pods and different strengths of pods I must declare that my Senseo makes the WORST TASTING COFFEE I HAVE EVER HAD! It is BITTER and there is no way of getting around it. I even threw away another $15 by purchasing the “fill it yourself pods” and still cannot get a good tasting cup of coffee….and anyhow that defeats the “easy to use” part cause you have to grind and fill each little pod and that takes time and patience. I called together a few of my friends to have a tasting because I wanted to know if it was just me who was a harsh critic of this coffeemaker and coffee. We sampled several different strengths of the purchased pods, in several sized cups (push button once, push button twice, on both sides of the coffee maker plus one pod verses 2 pods at a time (= 8 different combinations). We came to the conclusion that I had made a very poor purchase! I maintain that the Senseo I used in Europe made a really good cup of coffee….but not mine! I do realize that once you open a packet of pods coffee gets stale and even though I store them in an airtight bag the flavor is bitter and flat. Save your money….what a disappointment and bad purchase.

Happy that there's an alternative to expensive and hard to get PODS
These guys work as well as the pods, which enable me to use a variety of coffees at a lower per cup serving than being slaved to the one shot pods. They seem pretty durable, and they clean and dry easily and fast. You'll have to adjust to a nimble system of grinding and filling and closing. So if you're clumsy or arthritic, these may not be for you. You need the "two pod holder" for these to fit into. Each pod will only brew about 6oz of coffee, even though it fits into the two pod holder. They are a bit "drippier", than the pods, so I let it run a bit before I let it run into the cup..and pull it before it gets thin. After a year of trial and error with so many different coffees, I can't get as good tasting a cup as the Mellitta Pods, and I've tried many different combinations. I wonder why theirs taste so good...

Needs a little work
Like many reviewers, my first try just filling the thing with finely ground coffee produced a very weak concoction you could hardly recognize as coffee. However, Here's what works for me. Being originally from New Orleans, I like fairly strong coffee. I found that using my burr grinder, even on the finest setting with regular beans yielded weak stuff. So I ordered the LeVazza Crema 'e Gusto pre-ground expresso bricks available on Amazon. I also ordered a 57mm tamper. About 2 rounded teaspoons of the LaVazza tamped in the pad produces a decent cup of coffee with a rich crema. As an old N.O. native I always have some ground chicory on hand. If I add about 1/2 teaspoon of the chicory before tamping, I get something I can really enjoy. This may, or may not be of help. Coffee, like wine, is all a matter of individual taste.

Great little product
Another way to get great coffee from a Senseo machine. I have been using this product since I received it. It is delivers good coffee from canned/bagged coffee. I first had Dunkin Donuts grind and found coffee to be weak. I then bought Lavazza Caffe Espresso canned coffee and found this makes a better cup of coffee due to the finely ground beans. It was kind of strong and hard on my stomach. I like a light flavored coffee and at the supermarket this weekend I ground some eight o'clock coffee to Turkish consistency. I have been drinking this all weekend and it is delicious. Getting the coffee into the containers is not for the clumsy fingered, but not impossible either. I haven't made a mess yet, always filling over the bag or can. Oh, i still will use and buy pods but this is a great alternative.

Nice product. Fits Hamilton Beach single serve
Good so far. A little bit weak flavor , but if I want stronger coffee, my machine allows me to use two at the same time. Works best with a freshly ground coffee. Works with a Hamilton Beach personal single cup coffee machine, that I can't find pods for. The lid stays on pretty well, even when overpacked. I usually hand wash it. Easy to rinse out. No need for a dishwasher. Would buy again if i used my machine more. I like it.
