Genuinely, pleasantly surprised. Would recommend.
I bought these wooden cutlery sets recently on recommendation, being described as strong and a more appropriate size for the usual needs compared to others available. I was fairly sceptical as I associate disposable single use type cutlery with the white plastic ones you get or the tiny spork things you get from the fish & chip shop, and honestly, I was a little worried of splinters.I have always recycled what I can and our area is lucky to have food waste collection. We try not to waste water, try to eat organic, cycle instead of drive & make sustainable changes to our lifestyle where possible. So the option to have cutlery, that if it is going to be single use, it is as sustainable etc as possible. On first impression they're nothing special, I mean, they're wooden knives & forks... They come in a simple but sturdy cardboard box & have a sleeve holding them neatly inside made of paper - great stuff, I can recycle those easily. The cutlery itself is smooth to the touch like an icecream stick.I have had them about 2 weeks now and can honestly say I am quite impressed. The forks and spoons are strongest, the knives have a little bit more flex to them, but I am being critical. I used a knife to butter some crusty bread that I had toasted with a block of butter straight from the fridge and cut through the butter and the toasted crust very easily! I was genuinely surprised. Though not as nice as stainless steel feels to use, it managed the job very well.I've eaten noodles & spaghetti bolognese with the fork, no issues there.I've eaten cereal, yogurt, soup, curry and rice with the spoon, and it is good, a little bit more of a concave shape to the spoon would be nice.Overall I feel the recommendations were fair - they feel an appropriate size in your hands, feel nice to use, are capable of the usual tasks, no breakages or bits snapping off, and not one splinter! Also, I have used and washed a set multiple times with no problem, so these do not have to be single use unless you need them to be.To sum up, I'd be wary of cheaper versions available to avoid any let downs. As far as these particular ones are concerned, I'm pleasantly surprised and after a few BBQ's and gatherings will buy these again when I run out.Thank you Sustained Earth, good job. Keep up the good work.

I WOOD order again.
I've searched for quality wooden utensils for awhile due to my allergic reactions to their metallic equivalents. I was in my teens fresh out of college when I realised it was the unforgiven steel that would swell my lips to an unbearable size, not the spicy ramen noodles that was a rampant campus meal replacement in the 90’s.Just ordered my next batch of Pinocchio parts.Finally.. I'm a real boy.

Good Quality…
Bought these for a big Christmas gathering. I was surprised how well made they are, they are fairly strong, no splinters etc. Very good quality, no snaps or breakages all afternoon and they look quite stylish too… very pleased.

Nice, strong and excellent value.
This disposable wooden cutlery by ‘Sustained Earth’ is exactly as described. The wooden knifes, forks and spoons are very well made, strong and durable, made from beechwood they are smooth, close grained and do not splinter. So robust and rugged that I think it would even be possible to clean and re-use them (but why?). Fully disposable and compostable they are both convenient and eco-friendly. We used them at a 40th birthday celebration and a number of our guests remarked how nice they were, much better than the usual plastic alternatives. Unlike another reviewer, we found the knives were quite capable of cutting most things including pizza, cheese and even (at a push) pork pies. At less than £8 for 150 pieces we think these are excellent value.

Knife not good for cutting pizza but thats unlikely to be served uncut at parties
This is a very good value set especially at the time of writing at a special offer price of under 8 quid for a 50 cover set of 3 utensils. They are wood as described. They are not longer than normal but they are average length. The knife is serrated but this is not enough to allow good use for very tough items such as pizza. I know that was a tough test but I am sure readers would like to know the knife though it did not cut well did not cause the knife to snap or break!I can tell you now it is a good sturdy set.The spoon is not deep enough to hold soup. Again unlikely to be served, and its more of a shovel for cakes and puddings or fruit salads or to serve potato salad etc. This is a very good set which has no plastic packaging and it is all wooden.Highly recommended.

Great finish
What I liked about these was that everything is bio-degradable and at a very good price too. I often find that the greener a product is the more I have to pay for it, these are very well made, with a smooth finish. They are full size cutlery and well presented. Everything about them from the box they arrived in to sleeves that keep them together in the box can be recycled. You get 50 each of knives, forks and spoons that are more than adequate for BBQ's, the beach or anywhere picnics. The knives have a decent serrated edge, suited to left and right handed people. Excellent value
