First pair were great, crap quality on new pair.
My first pair of these boots were great. They were comfortable and tough, and lasted me almost 3 years. When I finally wore through the soles, ordering the same boot again was a no-brainer.This new pair, I got about 7 months ago- and didn't really start wearing them much until about 4 months ago- and the leather is already splitting/cracking where the boot creases when walking. Not at all in line with my first pair.I am on my feet most of the workday, but I'm not using these in/around oil, grease, gas, concrete, glue, chemicals, etc, that would maybe attack the boot material and break it down. Just standing, walking, driving. Normal everyday use. This new pair also fits a little smaller than my first, even though they're nominally the same size. Not a problem per se, but this leads me to believe this pair is from a different production run, or a different factory altogether, than my first pair. And this run or factory is not using the same quality of materials as the old pair had.If these were a $50 boot just meant to look good, I wouldn't mind so much, but these cost three times that and are supposed to be a serious work boot. I think expecting at least a good year of use out of such a boot is fair.

Been wearing Timberlands every day for about 10yrs now and couldn't be happier.
I have worked in a refinery now for 15yrs and being on my feet all day is part of the job..When I first started years ago, I would go through boots left and right. I tried brand names that people swore by and off brand boots as well; but nothing really seemed to hold up for the long run. So kept cycling through all the boot makers until I came to Timberland.. I tried them on and they fit just as they should. Not too big and not too small.. it was just right for my wide foot ( I ordered 13 wide ). So I ended up buying them and ended up going through a years time and they were just as good as when I bought them, minus the oil stains and marks from the refinery.I ended up wearing a pair for 2 yrs before I replaced them.. even then I kept them as my back ups incase my others got when while at work. I get a boot allowance every year from my company, but with these boots I really don't need to get them. I've worn Timberland brand boots now about 10yrs and couldn't be happier with the quality you get from these boots and esp at such a good price.. there are so many more expensive brand boots out there they don't rate half as well with me as well as these do.One of the best things I like about these boots, is the rubber that wraps all the way around the whole entire boot. Not only does this provide a stronger support, but it also protects my feet from spilled oils and other materials in the refinery. You really won't find a better pair of boots around, and deff. not at a cost that matches Timberland.

Comfortable boots that last about a year, but soles fall apart after that.
Boots are comfortable, light weight and you don't even notice the steel toe. The draw back to these boots are after about 1 year (my third pair now), the soles crack in half and then just fall apart from there - they are a plastic/foam type of sole. The rest of the boot is fine, just wish the soles were made better.

FOOT PAIN
Really comfortable at first. Three months later I started to have issues with my foot. Unexplained pain...Felt like gout or bone spur. As time went on my foot would be fine, then pain. Lots of it. i thought maybe I had diabetes and this was a symptom. Turns out it was the left boot..Not sure what the issue is. It felt like it fit fine, but it didnt. Turns out my co worker had the same boots and same size. low and behold the same type of foot pain. I bought a cheaper set of boots (dickies ) No pain anymore. Not sure why Timberland has gone down hill wit the quality....Ive been buying a pair a year from them for over 10 years. never a problem before.

Decent
Overall, these are nice boots. I am on my feet over 12 hours a day on concrete and metal. My last boots were Timberlands and I really liked them but I go through boots like candy due to the chemical in our coolant (work as a machinist) eats away rubber and leather. I liked those a lot so I decided to try another variation and what caught my eye was the rubber coating around these boots. I know that will probably get eaten away, but I am expecting that. But what I like about it is that it wraps around the whole boot and even into the tongue which will help keep any oil/coolant spills out from inside the boot and any excess metal shavings. My last pair of boots I did not have to break in, they were so comfortable out of the box. I wore these last night and only after 4 hours my feet were killing me. A lot of reviews stated that these were comfy out of the box but for me it wasn't the case. Not a big deal. Regardless I always expect the first couple days to be stiff on boots until they soften up with use. The biggest disappointment was how hard the soles are. It kind of feels like I'm walking on rock. Some Dr. Scholls might help with that until they wear in.

he needed some boots that are not only comfortable, but durable
I purchased these boots for my husband, who is a truck driver. Due to him having to check the trucks he drives, kicking tires, using foot cranks, and other things, he needed some boots that are not only comfortable, but durable. So far he's only had them for a little over a week, he absolutely loves them. They are so much more comfortable than his old boots, which I can't think of the name at this moment, and he tells me almost daily. Not only are they comfy, but they look nice as well. I like the front (toe part) myself, because they don't look cheap like some of the other boots that I've come across. The logo is visible, but not too much, and the brown goes well with his uniform. Will update my review in a few months to see how they hold up, but so far, I'm happy with this purchase, and he is too.

One of the best brands out there, I have and do own/owned several.
sent these to a family member who needed some top-flight safety shoes. he loves them. extremely comfortable, and are now his new favorite work shoe.I have my own pair of Timberlan Pro's.. and I just bought a new pair for when these wear out. You wont go wrong with them.Yes, you might find some cheaper.. Keen makes a decent shoe, and runs 10-20% less on average.. but, i had Keen, and went back to Timberland..so yes, if you CAN afford the upgrade, your feet will definitely thank you.And these last a good solid year under heavy use, so they do make up for their cost by being long lasting.

Typical Timberland Quality
I bought these to do some landscaping and regular mowing.I wanted something that could get wet, these get soaking wet on the outside and are as dry as the Sahara on the inside.Very comfortable, found it pinched a little on one boot near the ankle, but that's now subsided. Just a bit of break in required. Composite cap is exceptional dropped a 30kg crow bar on it and felt nothing.100% would buy again, so comfy and does an exceptional job for everything I need.
