P57 exceeded expectations
The machine is great. There is software that is loaded on it which makes it easy to install drivers. This I7 7700 is much faster than what I thought it was going to be.I have not tested out the GPU, but there is software on the machine that allows a user to overclock the CPU in 5 different stages. The 17.3" screen feels like the right size for this computer. I have not gamed on it yet so I cannot comment on the noise level of the GPU. However for initial setup and install of games it can barely be heard. The 802.11 wifi chip is very fast on the 5ghz. I have 200 MB/s per second and my chip was pulling between 170 MB/s and 220 MB/s. My desktop only does 150 MB/s. I downloaded Overwatch in about 10 minutes. The Camera is lacking. I was hoping that it would be very clear, but it is fuzzy. The mouse and mouse pad are much larger than the image makes them appear to be. I personally like the size of both of them. The mouse's cord is not a gaming fabric it is a plastic/rubber coating.Ultimately I was looking at several PC's in this price range. ASUS Strix and this Gigabyte were the last machines I narrowed it down to. Both are roughly the same cost but the strix has 500 GB SSD. But cost 100$ more. I went with this becasue it has the bundle. The backpack matches the color scheme of the laptop, mousepad, and mouse. This machine does not look like a gaming computer, it looks more like a bigger professional laptop.I did not want a big bulky gaming laptop, and this fit the bill for me. It has a thin profile and puts out some serious power. I am happy with my purchase. Gigabyte P57Xv7-KL3 17.3in VR Ready Gaming Notebook (i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, 256GB SATA SSD + 1TB HDD, NVIDIA GTX 1070 8GB, Windows 10), Aluminum Black

Great laptop with amazing specs for the money
Great laptop with amazing specs for the money. The GTX1070 is very fast and no problem maxing out today's best graphics. The IPS display is beautiful with great color rendering. Can get 4-5 hours surfing the web on battery, maybe 1 hour gaming on battery. Fans get loud while gaming but that's expected, and overall the temps of the components stay at a reasonable level under load. There are a few cons but not enough to detract from the rating. First, the keyboard does occasionally stop working when plugging in headphones. Maybe a driver issue. There is small/medium amount of light bleed from the display. While noticeable when the screen is dark it's quickly forgotten and not distracting to where I would consider returning.Overall, this laptop is a beast!
