GREAT FUN & EDUCATIONAL AT THE SAME TIME!
I bought this game for my 3-year-old granddaughter. This is a simple match game where you turn over all the squares where you can't see the pictures. Then you pick one and turn it face up; then one by one you try to find the matching train. If you don't you turn that piece back over. My granddaughter has learned all the names of each train, & she remembers where certain pieces are. She plays with it every time she comes over & 2 other people can play too. So, we spend quality time together playing a fun, educational game. It's great!

The Simple Matching Game Done Right
This is a fantastic memory / make-a-match game. My 3-year-old boy is a huge Thomas & Friends fan, and he loves it.There are 54 cards, which means 27 pairs and plenty of variety. Each pair features a different character, and the set includes all the main characters (like Thomas, Gordon, and James), lots of secondary characters (like Rosie, Emily, and Spencer), and even obscure characters like construction vehicles and other engines whose names I don't even know! If Amazon allowed for 1/2 stars, I'd probably have given the game 4 1/2 stars, only because it would have been nice if each character's name were printed on the card, too.The cards are square-shaped and made out of thick, sturdy cardboard. They look like they will stand up well to frequent use.A lot of people might think that since memory / make-a-match games are basically just sets of cards, one set should be just as good as another. But for the sake of comparison, let me tell you what I don't like about my older daughter's Disney Princess memory cards. First, they are basically miniature-sized playing cards, so they're made out of the same kind of material as playing cards - heavier than paper, but not exactly cardboard. In a 3-year-old's hands, they easily bend and fold and rip, so after a while, they're in kind of bad shape. Also, since the cards feature only princesses, and there are a limited number of princesses, the set resorts to recycling the same characters in different dresses and poses. When talking about the cards, we have to say, "the Jasmine wearing green" versus "the Jasmine wearing blue", or "Cinderella with her hands up" versus "Cinderella with her hands holding her dress". It's ridiculous and annoying. Compared to that game, I LOVE this Thomas & Friends set.

Fun educational Toy
When you give a gift sometimes you want to make fun and education a priority. This is the game for a young one. It introduces a fun way to match items and find success at doing a task. Fans of Thomas and friends will be especially happy to match up something they already know and will have them laughing about what they are matching. A great gift item for a birthday party or any other occasion to treat a young child. WE ordered this through Amazon.com so we could get it as soon as possible for a gift.

Sturdy matching cards
Cute matching game! My daughter spends hours playing this! We didn’t know who some of the characters were at first so we wrote the names on the cards and now she’s an expert and can name almost every card!

Fun for young kids, but too many cards
Way too many cards for this game to be considered age 3+. I had to take out half the pack before it was ready for my almost 4 year old to play. As he grows though we may be able to add more cards for a bigger game. Not a bad purchase though, he enjoys playing it and naming all the characters!

This is a nice, bare-bones "Memory" type card game
This is a nice, bare-bones "Memory" type card game. This game has a few too many pairs of cards for the attention span of my four year old. The box says that the game takes approximately 10 minutes. I swear it takes us 10 minutes to play half a game before he is no longer focused. However, his attention span will increase as he grows older, and this game is already a big hit. Even half a game is better than no game at all! I wish the names of the train characters were printed on the cards as there are some more obscure ones, and my son and I don't know them all by name. It would be nice to be able to announce them all as we flip them over. I'm still giving it five stars.

I had to pull some out to make the game go quicker so he would not get bored.
The picture were too much alike it was harder for my child 4 to mach up unlike other make a match games. I had to pull some out to make the game go quicker so he would not get bored.

Great game for any Thomas fan
I bought this for my 3 year old grandson, he loved playing it! It was a good way to see if he could pay attention to details. We made up our own rules that he would understand and we can change the way we play as he gets older. I would recommend this game for any Thomas fan out there.
