Dick products with plastic handles are dishwasher proof. In the long run, a change in color intensity, staining and rusting may occur. We recommended cleaning all chefâ s knives by hand. F. Dick knives and sharpening steels are suitable for cleaning in sterilizers up to 130°C. Residues of highly concentrated washing agents, tools left in the washer for long periods of time and also egg white and meat residues can cause stains on the blade. Therefore, we recommend cleaning immediately with a mildly alkaline cleaning detergent. I am not fond of many of the famous German brands of kitchen knives..beautiful yes, but poor for the home cook to take care of correctly. This is just the right temper and hardness for longevity and easy sharpening. Fedrick Dick makes my best files I use everyday and they are 120.00 each, Twice the price of any other brand I use (Grobet) but far exceed all others in production. These blades are worth much more, buy them before they get popular.
