I secured this to my gunnel track with a seperate gunnel mount, and this held my rod holder great while a 50 pond carp pulled us around the lake.

Great for extra options and spare
Using a pole mount livescope I installed three of these on my small boat to have various options of pole locations depending on the situation I was fishing and also one for a spare in case I break one. Works perfectly.

Easiest to use of three brands I have used.
Not nearly as sticky as my Scotty brand. Easier to remove and turn. Overall I prefer them but not enough to spend the money to replace them. All my future boats will have these though.

Good product for the money
Easy to attach my rod holder with one button release.

Do not fully lock down in side orientation.
These do not fully lock when installed in a side mount orientation. They fully lock when used on a top mount orientation, but do not lock the spline portion down when installed in a side mount orientation, allowing the rod holder to swing freely. Unlike these, the Scotty mount locks properly in both orientations! If this mounts do not operate the same way in either orientation the manufacturer should make that clear!

The product is well made and sturdy.
It's easy to install. The mounting hardware is good quality.I'm using it to mount a fish finder transducer extension arm on my boat.
