Well built and functional
This compressor is well built and works well. It takes a few minutes per tire, so you must stand and monitor the pressure gauge - no going inside for a cup of coffee or you will explode your tire. The snap on air hose works well enough for me but as others have noted, there can be a little bit of a tussle to remove it. Note that in the product photograph, it looks like there is carrying handle, but it's just an illusion caused by the coiled up air hose. The power cord was plenty long enough to reach all the tires, but it is a bit of a hassle to wrap it up small enough to fit into the case after use, so it's definitely not something you'll be doing in the dark by the side of the road. When it is in the case it is very compact and easy to take in the car with other tools. The LED work light is bright enough to see the tire and area around it, but not much more. Be careful with it after use as it is very hot, just like any compressor of this size will be after running for more than a minute or two. It runs very quiet and doesn't hop around all unbalanced like some compressors tend to do. The nozzle attachments for filling basketballs and air mattresses are attached directly to the unit itself so they can't be lost. All around seems like a well built and solid unit, would definitely compress air again with it.

Solid Compressor - don't waste your time with the others.
Purchased this to buy some time before getting a set of VERY leaky aluminum wheels refurbished. Was leery at first, as all of the other portable air compressors I've used over the years were absolute garbage. This little compressor is leaps and bounds above the others and well worth the money spent. It is solidly constructed, quiet, and very fast/powerful. My practically empty 255/35/18's were up to 40# in the blink on an eye. The built in pressure gauge is very accurate for what it is. (checked with my nice digital gauge.) The power cord and air hoses are long enough to do the job. The LED light is so very handy.I chose the push-on style air fitting as it seemed to be the quickest to use - but, as other reviewers have said, it can be at times a little difficult to remove resulting in air loss. No worries, I just over-fill & check with external gauge, and if more air is needed, the compressor is so fast it really isn't an inconvenience. I've used this a couple dozen times now, and was hoping that the chuck would loosen up a bit to make for easier removal, but so far it hasn't. I guess this is actually a GOOD thing, as a tight fit would be preferred there. There could also be some issue with the stems (corrosion?) hanging it up. Again, the inconvenience is only minor to me - the unit works so well in all other respects that I can deal with it. No idea how this compares to the screw-on model, Would recommend finding a buddy with one and trying first to see which works best for you.The other tiny "con" is the case. The case itself is GREAT. Well constructed, great size for stuffing in the back of the car. Solid zippers. BUT - because of the generous air hose length, sometimes it can be a puzzle to fit the unit back in the case quickly. A little frustrating trying to cram everything back in if you're in a hurry. (I've always managed, but sometimes bad words are said.)YES - I would definitely recommend this tire pump, with the caveat that it might be a little fiddly to get the air hose detached. (minus one star for that)

An ideal portable pump.
I have an imperfect tire rim that slowly leaks when it gets very cold (<15F), but is otherwise fine. Since we have had a cold winter this year in Chicago, I have had to add air about once a month. This unit is great. It's small and includes ends to inflate balls, air mattresses, etc. in addition to the permanent connection for tires. I have had to use the flashlight that's built into the end on a couple occasions, and is bright enough to attach the pump to the tire, but would not be bright enough to use under the hood to do other maintenance, etc.The pump inflates a tire quickly - within a few minutes, I am typically able to add 5-10 PSI to an SUV tire. It operates fairly quietly as well; it is much quieter than a compressor with a storage tank. The unit comes with a cigarette lighter plug and a cord that's long enough to either extend out the window or through an open door and easily access both wheels on one side of the car. I haven't tried to wrap around a car (e.g. plug in the pump through the driver door and walk all the way around the vehicle, but I don't know if it'd reach for my 3-row SUV; I think it probably would for a sedan.

Works well, packs small
I've only used the pump a couple of times so far, but it has worked well both times. The cord to plug it into your cigarette lighter is very long, long enough that I had no trouble reaching any of the tires of my vehicle, and the hose to connect the pump to your tires is long as well. Double win. The pump isn't loud, though it may seem like it when you're right next to it, but move any reasonable distance away and it's much quieter. The bag fits everything nicely, and makes it very convenient to stash in your spare tire compartment (if there's any *spare* room, haha). The little pump didn;t struggle getting to 32 psi, and comparing it to other portable air pumps I've used it seems like it could get to 45 or even 60 psi in a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend this small portable air compressor to anyone wanting a bit of peace of mind when going on long trips or driving in remote areas.

Must have portable tire air-compressor
I am thrilled with this product. The instructions were clear and straightforward, it has a flash light on the front to make it easy to use when stranded on the road, the air-pressure gauge is lit, the entire thing fits easily into a small bag you can tuck into your trunk, and it works quickly and easily. It's powered by your car's adapter port (cigarette lighter), and only takes about two seconds per psi. The cord is easily long enough to reach either tire from one side of the car, although I had to pass it back through the car to get the tires on the opposite side. It even has an adapter for bicycle tires in the case. Frankly, I can't think of many ways you could actually improve it.

Great little tire compressor
We purchased the Viair 78P compressor several weeks ago after reading some of the online reviews, which were quite positive. Well, the reviews were right - this little compressor is great. We have used it twice now to inflate vehicle tires and it is fast, easy to use, and relatively quiet. My 205/50/R17 winter tires were nearly flat when I went to change them over this fall. The Viair 78P compressor had them fully inflated in a few minutes each. And even though the specs say it only inflates smaller car tires, we had no trouble inflating the tires on our Nissan Xterra (265/65/R17). All in all, I would recommend this product.

Compact and fast
Quiet and fast. A little fussy at first to get display to read tire pressure. Make sure u get a pressure reading before u turn on to fill.

Great little tire inflator
I got the 78P which is the perfect size for my car tires, filling them in a reasonable time. It is small and compact and great value for the money. The built in gauge is easy to read and accurate. If you have truck or large SUV tires you should consider the 85P.

Best Inflator on the market....
Don't even think about it, this one is the BEST on the market hands down. The cord length and hose length is combined over 20 feet, the press on chuck is simple and works, the motor is strong and inflates very quickly, and lastly the noise level is very unbelievably quiet.Quality is here on this one, i have a few cars and different air pumps in each for emergencies. Hands down no contest the Viair is hands down the best in class, worth the premium and i can highly recommend.
