Chatimal Talking Monkey Plush Stuffed Animal Record and Play Back 9" H

It's smaller than I was expecting but that's OK. The monkey repeats everything in a higher pitch and at a faster speed but does catch a lot of what is said and is pretty easily understood. The monkey's mouth moves while repeating back which makes it look pretty cute. One great feature is that once the button is pushed, it catches and repeats phrases in an ongoing manner without a button being pushed every time. But, the recording length is short--about 3-4 seconds. We all had a good time saying funny things and hearing it repeat it back. I would have given it 5 stars except I'm not sure about it's durability and it seems to be just a little on the pricey side for me (I hate paying shipping which I was forced to do for this item since it ships from Hearthsong).

My grandkids love to play "Talking Tom" and similar games on my iPad and the younger one (7) loves monkeys, so I thought this would be a good birthday present. She and her older sister (9) had a fun giggly time talking to the monkey and having him repeat their words back in a silly voice. I thought it was funny how when someone with a low voice (Grandpa) talks to him, he repeats their words in a low voice instead of the high voice he uses with little girls. I can't say how their mom and dad felt about the toy as these type of things can get tiresome if overused (but it does have an on-off switch!).

Not at all as pictured. It looks more like a chipmunk ! An ugly one at that! If it weren't so inconvenient to return it would have been sent back immediately!!! As it is, it will probably just go in the trash!! You can't even understand a word when it tries to repeat what you say. I would NOT recommend this product. Will have to find something else for my granddaughter !!!

Got this for my 5 year old's birthday who loves monkey's. It is so much fun, we have all played with it. We get to laughing so hard. It is not too loud, but you can hear it. It makes any voice sound funny. The mouth actually moves on the monkey which I did not expect. It is a good size and loads of fun. Easy to spot clean, which I am sure we will need to do often.

This monkey was a huge hit at Xmas time. I got it for my autistic son whose speech is just starting to emerge and he loves talking nonsense to it and hearing it repeat whatever he said. I think this is a great product.

This was a gift and I stupidly had it sent to me and then remailed it to recipient. So that part is my fault. The item itself works just as advertised and I hear my 4-yr-old nephew gets a big kick out of its voice. Glad I got it; sorry I didn't have it sent direct.

Got this for my 10 year old nephew for Christmas. He absolutely LOVED it....He loves to talk, and this thing repeats everything he says only in a silly high voice. It was a ginormous success!!!!

Chatimal the Talking Monkey has been a source of entertainment and amusement for me, my Grandsons, their parents, and visitors to my daughter and son-in-law's home. I am glad I made Chatimal a part of our family.
