Linksys Quality............
Purchased this item with Amazon Prime and delivery was very fast. Upgraded to this router when my D-Link router gave up after 7 years. Hours and hours of reviews and searching I decided on this router mainly because of the newer WIFI standard (AC) and linksys smart wifi apps and controls.I was skeptical because of the reviews with folks having problems setting up but let me assure you that setup was a breeze. My method was basic and straightforward, connect the router's internet port to your ISP's modem internet port and also connect your pc to port 1 of the router. Open Control Panel------> Network and Sharing Center-------> click "set up a new connection"--------> ''set up a new network''. Windows will automatically open linksys smart wifi settings page, VERY IMPORTANT select MANUALLY setup router and you will be able to setup your WIFI credentials etc. You do not have to create an account with linksys etc as thats where most people get confused and creates a problem setting up. After you have completed setting up you can feel free to setup an account with linksys to use their smart wifi app. Router works great, excellent maximum ISP speeds (according to your package). It creates 2 wireless networks one 5GHz and one 2.5GHz simultaneously. All in all I'm happy with this purchase and I definitely recommend this product.

It's Working Very Well For Me!
It's only been a week, but I'm really impressed by this router. I had been using a Netgear 600 series router for the last 4 years, but started having signal issues. Despite many negative reviews, I decided to give this a shot. My son actually set it up, while I was at work. When I pulled up to the house, I picked up my phone and noticed it had 3 out of 4 signal bars for WiFi. I was like wow! Typically with the Netgear, I would only get 1 & on occassion 2 while sitting on the patio; we bought an extender. While the extender worked very well, the speeds weren't always the best. We have a 2500 sqf house, and even at the weakest signal point it's 2 to 3 bars without using the extender(with this new router). Unlike many reviews, I haven't had any issues YET with the signal dropping on the 5ghz channel. My son said the setup was pretty easy, and he was able to use the sames passwords from the other router. My son's room in the furthest and typically has the weakest signal; 2 bars. Even in his room, he's scoring from 25 to 30 megs on internet speed test; we have 40 meg internet. I've very happy so far, and we're not having to use the wifi extender for anything.

Love the Smart Wifi which gives me the ability to control when my kids have access through the app - way cool. Other features are cool, too. What's not so cool is that sometimes my devices do not connect automatically to wifi. The devices shows connected, but it's not. I have to turn the wifi off on the device and then on to connect. Weird and annoying.

Refurbished and working...
I purchased a refurbished Wireless Router. Unpacked it, connected it, read the brief instructions, etc. and was ready to go. The software allowed me to create Smart Wi-fi login credentials, but kept looping through so I could never set up the router. I looked through many sites, but didn't see a solution, but did see several older references to not install the software, etc. Eventually got a second Linksys Technical support person on the line who walked me through connecting to my PC and getting into the software, but there was another issue she couldn't assist with and asked me to contact AT&T. Eventually because I tried to bridge my AT&T Broadband modem and my router things got hosed. I reset the modem and router, and managed to get things going and tried the bridge option one more time; which caused more problems, which I thought I had worked out....Finally broke down yesterday and chatted with Linksys Technical support where technician had me do an offline setup with everything connected (AT&T modem, router, and PC), with my Internet Wireless connection off (after waiting a few minutes after disconnecting it)....I was able to this time use my login credentials and eventually setup the router, and re-start the modem, router, and PC before making sure things worked out....I also have the AE60000 USB Internet AC adapter(s), which one worked fine after the setup, but another one I had to download the software for and place in another USB port....For now I have given up on the bridge / router-behind-router option, since prior to now the Linksys light from time to time flashed and was not always solid; but since the last setup/install it has been solid so I don't want to mess anything up....I have used Linksys products for a while and wanted to replace an old one, to get more range than the modem for sure, etc.

Great, strong and fast router
This router has decent signal strength. I built my own house on our farm and I built it to German standards, which means all the walls are insulated and there is steel bracing everywhere. This is great for the house, lousy for wireless because all that steel interferes. But this router can reach every corner of the 3000 sq foot house from the central downstairs kitchen. And the signal is not only strong, but it is fast. The fact the router is refurbished just makes it more appealing since the price is only $100. Plus the unit came with no blemishes or marks. It seems new to me and likely is one of those returns from a store like Best Buy where the person buying it had no clue and had to return it. (I will re-review if this thing does not last; it was purchased early Feb 2016--if there is no addition in six months, consider this a solid item.)
