This is the third Bodum mug that we have. The first two were purchased over 17 years ago and are still used daily (although the tops have been lost). They hold ice in the mugs overnight. The new mug is smaller but has similar performance. It is also attractive and very well made. It is equally good at keeping coffee hot as a soda cold for hours.The top is well made except the flip top will not close. My wife broke a fingernail trying to get it to close and lock and I gave up as I thought I would break it before getting it to latch. That makes it less useful as a travel mug since the sipping hole will not close tight. I would have given it 5 stars except for this.

This is my husband’s favorite cup - he uses it for hot coffee almost daily and has for the past 5 years. We have never had a problem with the lid but we hand wash it daily, we never place it in the dishwasher. Rinsing it out immediately after use helps prevent stains. It is amongst the easiest to clean, because of the simple design, bar none. It can crack if it is dropped on pavement (speaking from experience) but it otherwise very durable. The insulation is ok. It works better for those who drink their coffee within an hour. It is an aesthetically pleasing cup and it’s great for both coffee and tea. One thing I noticed that changed from earlier models is that the silicone band is no longer removable - it’s now affixed. I preferred the earlier version with the removable band, but it doesn’t affect overall use. It could spill if tipped over because isn’t intended or designed like a leak proof water bottle. However, we have never had a problem with it leaking while drinking from it. We are fans!

I have others of this brand, but were made in Switzerland, the one I received from Amazon was made in China.

I had an older BODUM for maybe 20 years. It finally got damaged falling off my car. My old BODUM was the best at keeping things hot or cold. Better than my Yeti. The new one also works well on hot/cold but I don't like the cap as well and the bottom diameter is bigger and does not fit into all of my cup holders.

I like the fact that it is easy to dishwasher safe, tough, and holds the heat for a reasonable time. (You have to be sure to not overfill or it will leak.) My husband drops it constantly, but despite the dents and scratches it continues to work well.We have purchased 8 of these in the last 10 years. (My husband has a terrible habit of losing them or putting them on he car or the bed of his truck and driving off so we only have 3 left. :-/ )

These are great mugs, we have several. They are the best we have found for both hot and cold. The only caveat is don't put them in the dishwasher as the top will eventually stop fitting, my guess is with the thermal design there is too much expansion over time nd the top stops being able to be rescrewed on. BTW I am talking over 3 years of dishwashing times. so it's not that hard to wash by hand and they seem to last a long, long time

The flip top lid is very nice but it's a little hard to snap open at first. This cup holds ice nicely and is a good size to hold and to fit in my cupholder in my vehicle. It has a very nice look to it as well but it does have a smaller capacity than most travel mugs. It seems to hold ice about as long as some of the other ones I've tried but not quite as long as the really pricey brands. I got this at a clearance price and am happy with it but I don't think I'd pay the full regular price.
