Very pricey, but color images are remarkably better quality over “compatible” toners we’ve tried. Original Brother toner does print beautiful photos and color images. If just printing for kids or copying ads, downloads, etc., then a good “compatible” did work for us. Added note: when comparing compatible toners I think the adage “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” may be very helpful.Only four stars because of the price.

These toners are genuine Brother cartridges and work as they are supposed to. Yes, third party toners are less expensive, and for the most part, should function as intended. However, the savings you obtain by using said third party cartridges may be all-for-naught if an issue arises causing damage to your Brother machine. See the warranty for more info under the section of what the warranty does not cover: "Damage caused by another device or software used with this Product (including but not limited to damage resulting from use of non BrotherTM-brand parts and Consumable and Accessory Items".These cartridges fit perfectly and installation/reset took about 5 minutes.If you so choose to be friendly to the environment, the Brother Toner Disposal Program is easy to use and a great option to dispose in a safe and compliant manner. Information on this can be found on Brother's website:brother-usa.com/environment/tonerinkdisposal.aspxFor home use, I would expect that if you are going to purchase a small business class laser that the price of replacing it in full would outweigh the benefit of third party toners, but of course this is up to consumer choice.As a business, the time spent on the turn around for replacing a laser and paying in full definitely warrants usage of genuine parts (at least until the printer is near its end-of-life or end of warranty).Another thing to note is that this particular toner kit includes a standard yield black toner; and high yield color toners. They come in four separate boxes all taped together, which is a little bit of a hassle to open and keep the boxes intact, but is acceptable.I hope you find this review helpful!

I have tried multiple "compatible" toners for my Brother MFC-9130CW & HL-3140CW. Constantly crappy prints, black or color. Went back to Brother brand and now have printers that do what they're supposed to do! It's expensive, but so is my time.

I have tried cheap toner in the past and they don't last as long and start banding very quickly. I would not use the cheap toner if you want to save money in the long run. I have bought several different kinds of cheap toner and they don't last half as long as this toner.

I have bought several sets of these toner cartridges. For my printing, I replace the color cartridges about once a year. I found a way (Youtube video) to reset the toner cartridge "levels". The low level indicator is set to the number of pages vice ink level. I normally can reset the level at least once and possibly twice.

Cost seems to be a little high for the vaiue

The Brother brand name cartridges give the test print quality. I have used no name cartridges (the distributor admits he does not know who he is actually getting the cartridges from when he buys from China). The color saturation on the no name cartridges only works for small areas of color. When printing large colored backgrounds the Brother brand name work, the cheap cartridges leave thinning areas of white blead through. This is a case where get what you pay more. I will by the Brother brand.
