Organic Gourmet Seasoning Mix, Beef Stew, 1.5 Oz. Pouch, 1 Count

This seasoning packet is enough to make a 3 pound pot roast with plenty of vegetables. I browned the roast a bit in some corn oil in a frying pan and put it in a lined slow cooker after setting the time for 10 hours on low. Then I got busy cutting up 4 red potatoes, 1 yellow onion and 6 medium carrots. After putting those on top of the roast I then mixed this seasoning packet with 1 cup water and poured that over the whole roast with the vegetables. Next I put on the lid and let it cook for 9 1/2 hours on low. I set my timer so I'd know when to make the gravy. This was easily accomplished after removing all the meat and vegetables and putting them in a 13 x 9 x 2 - inch glass baking dish. Then I added in 1/4 cup butter blended well with 1/4 cup flour and then I whisked in 2 teaspoons Better Than Bouillon Roasted Beef Base you get in a jar. I whisked that all together to create the perfect gravy. I made sure the slow cooker was not turned off while making the gravy so there was enough heat to thicken the gravy nicely. This turned out great and with a little adapting on the gravy it made a nice dinner that was pretty easy to make. Of course check to make sure the meat is totally cooked before making the gravy in case you need to cook longer. A larger roast may take the full 10 hours. I'm happy with this dinner and my husband ate his portions of meat with ketchup! The gravy was however very delicious! This is going to be easy to clean up too with the disposable slow cooker liner! The stew mix is delicious. The spices are well blended, so one spice doesn't overpower all of the others.

Whenever I make Chili I now use Watkins. It has become my go to Chili seasoning. If my local supermarket is sold out I order it online here at Amazon. The flavor is tasty and rich with the smallest amount of heat. I have used it with Turkey and Beef. Either way it seasons my Chili just right. I usually add diced onion and green pepper as well. It makes my Chili so tasty that I now make it at least five times a year or more. I have always purchased the mild but I may see next time if there’s a hot version. My family really enjoys it.

It wasn't a bad seasoning. It was alright. It was just a little on the bland side. I think it needed more spices or flavor in the seasoning. It tasted like a normal pot roast type of seasoning but a little bland. I thought the price was a little more than what it should have been for the flavoring.
