Melissa & Doug Giant Border Collie - Lifelike Stuffed Animal Dog (over 2 feet tall)

No words to describe how grateful my husband and I are to have found this dog. It is so lifelike and such high quality, we are beyond pleased. Our story is bittersweet, and I feel the need to share because this dog has helped our family during a heart wrenching chapter. Our mother — my mother in law — was diagnosed earlier this year with dementia / Alzheimer’s and it has taken a huge toll on her. She is in assisted living and the change has been difficult for a number of reasons, including her accelerated decline and memory loss. The sweetness is about the dog, who resembles our dog, Sajha, whom my mother in law adores and loves. She calls Sajha her “friend”, and even though now she forgets most people and their names, she always asks about her friend, Sajha. Today we celebrated Mom’s birthday with our family and a dear friend. Our gift was this dog, since Sajha couldn’t be there. We put a pink bandana and a birthday tiara on the dog (to match Mom’s birthday tiara). Not a dry eye in the room as Mom started talking to and petting her friend, and was so happy to see her again. When we took the dog to Mom’s room, like always, she sat her friend by her side and continued to pet her and talk to her. Alzheimer’s is a cruel and heartless disease that does not discriminate, and when it took our mom, it broke our hearts. I am sure our mother’s, too. To find a “companion” that Mom can talk to in her moments of clarity and bouts of loneliness helps us have peace, too. Mom loves her “new friend” and we are grateful we found this special dog at Amazon. We now can fully recommend for folks with dementia as a calming and comforting resource.

Completely adorable and surprisingly lifelike for a stuffed animal. I gifted this dog for Christmas to a family of three boys (8,6 & 2) who have been begging mom and dad for a dog. It was a little young for the eight-year-old but the six and two-year-old are obsessed. They drag him around the house on a leash I bought to go with it calling out his name “Oreo”. Seriously so adorable. The dog is legitimately bigger than the two-year-old and hard for him to manage which adds to the fun and life like nature. The only potential negatives in my mind are:1. It is made so that the dog will be sitting all the time. You aren’t able to move it into different positions, so it’s not the best for cuddling at night.2. It’s hard to wash because it’s rather large which could be an issue with kids.Overall though, it was a huge hit and I would highly recommend to any dog loving child. Additionally, I bought a real collar and leash to accompany the pup and it was a great addition.

I received my collie yesterday. I ordered a Border Collie because the coloring is exactly like my tri-color sheltie who passed last week. The actual size shocked me as it was almost the exact size of my dog! It's really beautiful, and a good price for the size. View the pictures of others to see how tall it is. I would just recommend that they give you an option to open it's mouth if you wanted to, such as a small stitch keeping the mouth closed, and you could just pop a string to open if you wanted to. The tongue hangs out, which is cute, but I prefer a closed mouth. I will sew it (just a stitch) closed for now. I would highly recommend! Shipped quickly also. Thank you!

Bought it for a prop that will display my dog bandannas that I make. I wanted something big and it does measure 2 feet tall. I unpacked it and had it on the table and left to do something. I came back later in the room and was startled by it, It looks very real. The fur looks like he may be a shedder if handled and played with a lot, but what I will be using it for, this is not a concern.

I needed a large plush dog for a presentation and chose this one because it is life-sized for this breed and looks very real. It's now the "therapy dog" in my office and people often pet or hug him, so he's doing his job!

I purchased this for my pre-teen stepdaughter who can't take her dog (a Border Collie) to her mom's house, so this way she could have her "pet" at her mom's. The few days it was at our house, it kept creeping everyone out. It looks so lifelike! And the markings are perfect. We had it sitting on a stool, and when you first walked into the room it looked like the real dog had jumped up on the stool (somehow). It made everyone do a double-take. It seemed pricey at first, but I'm glad we got it. She was VERY pleased with the dog - even went to the pet store and bought it a collar and tag!
