Acer Aspire One 533
Purchased as a gift for my granddaughter, to take her lecture notes at Uni. Product as described, comes with neoprene cover, but purchased more substantial one, at same time. Competitively priced, well packaged, with prompt delivery

So far... unimpressed
I had high hopes for this netbook - especially after picking it up from amazon for £70 less than normal. It arrived in good time, and i spent some hours over the weekend getting the Windows 7 starter as i like it. Immediately thought the 1Gb Ram was insufficient for multi-program working, but as a simple web surfer, and odd time word processor, it appeared to suit my needs. However, after 3 days the keyboard and touchpad stopped responding. I began a re-install process and, after a few hours, a loud 'pop' was heard and smoke seen.It is currently being returned.

Small well formed and very handy
Great little netbook, does everything I need it to do. I did however upgrade the memory to 2GB just to give it that little extra. Comes preloaded with Windows 7 Starter which is fine for light use. Screen is clear and sharp for it being 10.1 and the keypad is well laid out. It was easy to connect to the home network and bluetooth is handy for connecting the phone and other devices.

Very cute netbook, love the colour, easy to use. The only problem is that it is a bit slow when opening windows and using the browser.

Acer Review
I am very pleased with this netbook. It gave me great internet cover when I was away and was just the job for downloading photos. Windows Starter is a bit of drawback in compasiron to my normal workstation but I bought it knowing that so no complaints!Tremendous value for money and very easy to transport around the world!

Better than expected!
Ordered this in the early hours of Friday and paid for quick delivery, it arrived at 9.40am the next day so first of all big props to Amazon for the really fast delivery!Onto the netbook itself, well yeah it's a cracking little thing, as long as you go in without the performance expectations of a desktop PC, which I didn't. Looks better in real life than the webpage pics. I'm mainly using it for communication when I'm travelling with work, and it's more than met my needs. I've removed any programs I don't require to get the best performance out of it, and use the Chrome browser due to it's lightweight nature. Besides internet browsing I mainly use the webcam to talk to people and once again it's very satisfactory, no problems at all. As long as you well manage what you have open then you shouldn't have any problems, I never have more than a couple of programs running at a time. Other points:+ multi touch trackpad - it's great and looks stylish+ decent screen+ keyboard is well sized and easy to type on+ general styling, bits of chrome, nice glossy lid+ velcro fastening case included+ battery life+ bluetooth built in- Windows 7 Starter. It doesn't even allow you to change the desktop wallpaper. I'm all for stripped down, optimised OS' for netbooks but PLEASE!

Can't fault this product.
Well, having used many p.c and mac computers in the past, I was a little skeptical of this Acer netbook for the the £220 asking price, but need something light, and fuss-free for communicating while on the go... and this ticked all the boxes. (as well as being extremely lightweight)This netbook, is obviously a trimmed down version of any laptop on the market, but does come with some handy extras, as in the webcam/microphone and bluetooth connectivity. While it is only dispatched with a Starter version of Windows 7, which does have limitations, you have to put it, into context as to what you need the netbook for. By the way the operating system can be upgraded, at a hefty price, but I would imagine that you would probably have to have a faster processor as well, as an upgrade on the Ram memory to get full use of a complete version of Windows 7.But I really don't see the limitations being that big of a problem for this type of computer.I haven't noticed that the boot up is slow, so to speak, but would advise to clean off any unwanted software(from initial installation), as well as keeping the files/folders in simple order, so that the netbook doesn't have to work twice as hard to find, the required uses you are after from it. As with all computers the more you download, and not keep an eye on your hard-drive and unwanted files/folders, the slower they will inevitably become.Delivery was, as I expect from Amazon - faultless, as well as a nice little addition of a free neoprene carry case, even though Acer do supply a basic carry case within the box.Overall, as the title suggests, this product really can't be faulted for the reduced asking price, though I may have baulked at paying the full price of £[]. Well done Acer!!
