Silicone Treadmill Belt Lubricant

I was looking for a way to tune up my old treadmill, and I came across this particular brand, and I'd say it's worked pretty well. It has a long tube or a short nozzle to help with easy application, it's clear and easy to get out of clothes so it won't stain so that's a plus too. Don't be afraid to use a generous amount, because once it's flattened under the belt it offers pretty good slip resistance and it lasts for about 100 hours of use is what they say, though you might need to put it on more often if you regularly clean the belt or you use the treadmill at higher speeds just to keep the friction down.

Full disclosure - I have an older treadmill that is pieced together with after market parts. The motor is very strong though. Initially, I had to use more than the required amount of this product. However, now that the TM deck is fully lubricated, the treadmill operates flawlessly. This stuff is the real deal - at least for me. YMMV. The best part - no smell. I highly recommend this product. It's thicker, lasts longer, and relatively speaking - stays in place and spreads evenly under the walking/running friction/motion. My only complaint is the bottle itself. It operates fine if you completely loosen up the belt/apply, However, for those quick applications - it's a little messy. With use, I have found that I occasionally/accidentally get some lube on my hands/fingers (because I stick the bottle under the tightened belt). Then when I lift the other side of the belt to apply - the lube transfers to the top of the belt from my hands. It's not ideal. And yes, I do wash/wipe my hands/bottle between side/side applications. However, that is user error - not product error. Just something to keep in mind when running on the fly. If your treadmill is newer - I don't suspect you will suffer any difficulty.

I like most people had a need for lubricant for my treadmill belt which hadn't been serviced in a while. I stumbled upon Impresa and had overall good reviews with a decent amount (almost 100) and took a chance. The product worked great as advertised and had great viscosity. In a marketplace where everyone is selling similar products at similar price points, sometimes it is tough to chose. The biggest thing I noticed was a a great customer service behind the product. When the package arrived, there was a tiny amount of the silicone leaked out in the package. Shipping in the warmer months is going to have some thermal expansion. It's going to be an issue with whoever you go with. The difference was, a tiny note in the package setting the expectation of what could happen during shipping. This small addition is the difference between someone being upset to someone being understanding. It showed me that there is a company that really cares and wants to take care of their consumers and educate them. With all products being equal, I am always going to give my business to a company that is responsive and cares, and exhibits great customer service. This is the biggest draw to Impresa and why I took time to write this review.

I’ve used IMPRESA’s 100% silicone treadmill lubricant on my Sole F85, and it performs exactly as advertised. The included applicator tip makes it easy to reach under the belt and apply the lubricant precisely where it’s needed. The bottle arrived sealed and intact, with no leaks or packaging issues. It smoothed belt glide and reduced motor strain after application. It is also odorless and non-toxic, universally compatibility with most treadmill brands, and seems to last a long time. I even use it on my cable machine to lubricate the weight stacks and the pulleys.

I have a True PS800 treadmill purchased new in 2014. I have used this product since 2016 with excellent results. I think the key is the 100% aspect of the product and the proper adjustment of the belt after lubrication (and thereafter) to maintain the proper tension. With practice, you can really do the lubrication step and adjustment quickly (with the trusty Allen wrench tool that came with the TM)... takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to do this step. I am a heavy runner (over 200 lbs) so lube and regular adjustment are important to a good (non-jerking or sticking belt) experience. My belt shows no signs of abnormal wear even though I've run about 20-30 miles a week (or more during good periods). I suspect the lube/adjustment advice applies not only to True TMs, but to other decent machines. It really performs like new (although I don't as I age-up in the world with a retirement).

I bought a used treadmill in November 2016 and in January 2017 the lube belt message lit up. A quick search came up with this product. Great reviews and a good price so I thought I'd give it a try. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I applied it as directed and got back to my exercise routine. I was surprised to find out that it really made a difference to the treadmill's performance! My only problem was locating a hex key aka allen wrench around the house (didn't come with one when I bought it used) to loosen/tighten the belt but that is no fault of the lube vendor. Hey, maybe they could offer to sell a hex key too. Indications on the bottle to show how much to use per application would be helpful but I just eyeballed it and used a sharpie to make the marks. Overall a great product and easy to use.
