Awesome!
This magnet is just what it says. It’s holding a smith and Wesson model 5906 with 15 rounds of 9mm in it. A heavy gun. It does not move. It’s almost like you have to break it off of the magnet. I have recommended to several friends and will continue.

Your gun won't go anywhere when stuck to this mount.
Wow, this is one strong magnetic mount. I actually purchased two different mounts from the same manufacture, on rated at 48 lbs, and this one rated at 70 lbs. I had doubts about them being as strong as they claimed and went ahead and ordered this one to be on the safe side, but after trying them both I can honestly tell you these will hold any gun very securely. The main difference between the 48 lb and 75 lb rated products is the addition of a third magnet inside this product. This mount could secure anything from a small hand gun all the way to a rifle or shotgun. These magnets actually stuck to each other through a 3" thick piece of wood, so they really do pack some power. I really like that the rubberized coating provide a nice surface that will not scratch my gun, because most likely you are going to be sliding the firearm off the mount instead of pulling it straight off. The mount has an adhesive backing, but it's really only for holding the mount in place while you permanently attach it with the included screws. The product does come with two lengths of screws, and small plastic caps that hide the screw heads, which gives a clean look and provides additional protection against a screw scratching your gun. If you are thinking about using one of these in your vehicle and don't like the idea of drilling and screwing into your console, consider using some of the 3M heavy duty adhesive tape.. it should hold it in place without the screws. Overall, this is a really good product and highly recommend if you are looking for a nice mount that will give you quick access to your weapon.

STRONG and works Through Kydex!
UPDATE: I have situated a single magnet in the center console of my truck, and it is able to hold a fully loaded Glock 27 (in kydex holster) as well as an additional magazine with 9 rounds of .40 cal in it. No problems getting the firearm off/on the magnet. This thing ROCKS!I have been searching near and far to find out if these magnets work with Kydex. Seemingly every 'gun magnet' product page shows the firearm resting directly on the magnet, not holstered. This is a blatant violation of even the most basic of gun safety rules, and isn't the application I wanted. I wanted to be able to pop my holstered firearm off my belt, and then rest it in my center console, but know exactly where it would be if/when I needed it.I even made a post on a gun board asking folks if they could test out a strong magnet's ability to retain a firearm within a kydex holster. The results I got were not great - most guys said they had a ~30 lb magnet, and it barely held at all.Well, let me tell YOU something - this holds my G27 in a Kydex holster with PLENTY of power to spare! I am actually kind of concerned it might have TOO strong of a hold to pull this bad boy off! I am going to install it in my center console and put it through its paces. I have a feeling this is going to be the one, though. I have already ordered a second to retain my spare magazine in much the same way.

Mmm Donut shaped magnets
The warning is, "The adhesive backing should ONLY be used for pre-used for per-mounting. NEVER mount magnet without screws."Could use some spelling and grammar checks...The product however is nice for what it is. This design has stronger magnets than others and less possibility to scratch my firearm. Bad thing is it didn't hold my double barrel shotgun well because small surface area of magnet so it would take two or more of these mounts. It works better for handguns...Though the product comparison chart believes 2 screws are better than 4 due to ease of installation... Not quite sure why screwing in two more screws would be that much more difficult while it would provide a much more secure mounting... The good thing is the screws go through the donut shaped magnets, but 4 would be more stable mounting...

Get this mount!
This was my second gun mount ever purchased and I was not disappointed in the quality. The holding power is very impressive given the size of the mount. The coating is non-marring so as to not mess with any weapon finises. I was able to place a handgun, an extra magazine and a flashlight all on the same mount. The power of the magnets are very impressive and I am amazed by the sheer holding power.Installing the mount is intuitive, however, make sure the material supporting the mount can handle the stress. Having that much weight being pulled against a mounting surface can wear over time. You can mitigate some of the stress by sliding the items instead of pulling directly against the mount.Overall, this is an awesome mount. I am very impressed with the quality and finish of the mounts, and doubly impressed with the holding power. It is a great mount in a small package.

Not as advertised
This is not a 75 lb magnet - it can't even hold my 1911 Government against a wall without it falling off. I tried to use it on a horizontal surface with the firearm beneath the magnet and guess what - it couldn't hold it. I am keeping it for my smaller pistols like a G43 or and LCP, but it isn't what they say it is. I should have checked the country of origin before ordering as quality control in China stinks. By the way the rubber covering is very soft and will not scratch. The only reason it got a two star rating was because it would work with sub-compacts. My estimation is about 15 to 22 lbs magnet.
