Nice little notebook
A good journal for what you're paying for; 2.5 months of mild wear/tear and it still looks quite nice. I kept it out of water and mostly in bags, though. I write in it daily with dark gel-ink pens, which don't bleed through; and the binding is still intact, as are the elastic and bookmark ribbons. It can lie flat just find and the binding will hold. The outside has a plastic-y feel, so it's not high-class, but it looks plain and elegant enough to take notes in a professional setting if that's what you want it for. Also, there's no pocket, but I knew that when I was buying it, so there's no complaints on that end. I sometimes tuck a few folded sheets of paper into it for later reference and it hasn't affected the binding or elastic's ability to hold, and the papers don't tend to fall out (even index cards).Definitely a cheaper and reasonable alternative to some more expensive brands.

The little blue book
Let me tell you about this little blue book (or whatever color you bought). It is perfect. The perfect size, color, shape, pages etc. Why do I say that? Well being in the military we receive these grass green issued notebooks that are great- but boring. BORING. Everything is green. We want COLOR.So...how did we come across these little guys? I work in a job where briefing is required and note taking consumes our 12 hour days out here on deployment. So when a lieutenant walked in flashing a purple and blue notebook we all kind of whipped our heads toward her. We WANTED THE BLUE BOOKS. So we all got on our Amazon Prime account since we have nothing to do but stare at sand all day and we decided to bring some color to the desert. Now everyone has a gorgeous journal to brighten their day. You may be reading this and thinking, why are you not focusing on fighting the war?! WELL WE ARE, but now we are doing it in style.Thank you bookfactory for providing us colorful journals that go with us everywhere. If I have ANY complaints its that there aren't more colors!!! And they ship super fast also! We even have some of the coalition utilizing them, they are that loved over here.

Elegantly Simple
I originally purchased one of these in green for use as a work notebook. While Moleskine is the go-to known brand for notebooks like this but I didn't want to put down that much money and pick up that much snobbery for something that I wasn't sure I was going to use often. I also ordered these pens to go with it, based on my preference for the style and other reviewers indication that it does not bleed through the page Pilot Precise V5 Stick Rolling Ball Pens, Extra Fine Point, Black Ink, Dozen Box (35334).I've attempted to keep a personal journal at various points in my life and never really been able to make the habit. I've tried everything from spiral bound notebooks, to bookstore-art notebooks, to Field Notes, to one of those handmade-paper leather bound jobbies I ordered from Amazon to guilt myself into it. No dice. The comfort I felt in touching pen to this paper immediately surprised me. It isn't magic and there isn't anything inherently life altering about it but it feels good to the touch, the book lays open in a comfortable way and the lines are perfectly spaced. It's simple and it works fantastically.I was so happy with it that I purchased the red/black variety for a more specific project. I'm even looking forward to filling it up so that I can get another!

A decent little journal that I like, but I don't love it.
I like this journal enough to have filled it after 3 months. Not too bad, honestly. It really is a nice journal, it has some good and bad, but mostly good. I'm picky when it comes to my daily writing, so I probably won't be buying another, but still - it was nice.PROSAwesome paper quality here. The paper is thick, white and it doesn't let ink bleed through. I can barely see any "shadowing" from the other side of the page when I'm writing, even with super-dark ink.The color is also nice. The flat black paper-wrapped hard cover goes very well with the red ribbon and elastic band. It's a straightforward, simple notebook. No frills, just lined pages.CONSThe nice cover is only nice when you get it, and sometimes not even then. It didn't hold up very well to shipping or general wear and tear. The ruling on the lines is a little bit wide for my taste. I write small, so the likes of Leuchtturm and Moleskine are better suited for me.No little folder on the back cover! This made me sad.OVERALLLike I said - it's a decent little journal that I like, but I don't love it. I'd recommend it to people looking for something to just jot ideas down in, but if you're a serious journaling person, go for the Leuchtturm1917. I won't go back to anything else.

Great Journal
the notebook is solid and compact. The black hardcover feels well-made, and the red band and red place holder really make it noticeable. The pages are college ruled which I prefer over wide rule. The pages seem to be stiffer better made than your typical notebooks. The way the pages are stitched together makes for a nice flow through the pages; which makes the note book a higher quality then what I use it for. I simply use this to write down my works through the week and my food intake.A few other reviews list that a 'con' for the note book is that it has a shiny "BOOKFACTORY" logo on the back. I personally don't have an issue with it seeing as it is on the back side of the cover plus id probably just end up sticking stickers all over the cover.

Good, compact little journal with nice line spacing
Perfect for my needs as a work journal. It's compact, the elastic seems nice and durable, I always prefer having a bookmark to easily find my last entry, and it's easy to put a pen with a clip over the elastic at the top of the journal so it fits snugly into the top space. I like that the line spacing on the pages is nice and compact as well without being to restricted. Solid hard covers should keep it in good shape for the duration of its use.
