AWESOME Computer!
This is my first iMac ever. and I love it!I got mine 27", 4GB Dedicated video card and it works perfectly. At the beginning I felt it was too big but once you get used to the screen size it is good.I jump over this and my Lenovo laptop, Took a while to get used to the different Operative Systems but nothing wrong with it until now.the good thing with this iMac is that you don't have the tower, like the PCs do!Comes with wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

It is a functional computer but be prepared to do quite bit of work yourself in order to get it working as it should.
I got the 27 inch iMac and right out of from the box it showed me a black screen with a prohibitory symbol indicating it is not running on a compatible Mac OS. I had to purchase a Ethernet Cable so I can plug this thing into my Internet Modem in order to do a OS Recovery via the App Store since it is not able to hook to my Wifi until it is running on the correct OS. The iMac then keep prompting me to update it the OS to El Capitan which is no longer available on the App Store, I had to restore it to Mountain Lion and then upgrade to High Sierra.Did I mention that HD that you supposed to install the OS into came locked so that I had to erase it via Disk Utility on the recovery mode and then do a restart of the computer via Network since afterwards the iMac was having difficulty locating the startup file. After over six hours I was eventually able to get the iMac work like it should from the start. It have been a long time since I used a Mac and I knew I had to readjust myself to its functions, I just never know that I had to take a crash course on how to do a OS recovery on it right from the beginning. Conclusion: The computer work but the seller need to have prepared it better before sending it to the customer.

My Second (and best) iMac
I bought this iMac to replace my previous 20" iMac that was 8 years old. I stayed with the Apple name brand, because of ingenuity that Windows has never caught up with and 8 years virus free (in the 8 years of owning my iMac we went through 3 Windows laptops with Norton installed due to viruses). I was blown away with how far Apple has come in gaming since I purchased my first iMac. I had just determined to do most of my gaming on my Xbox 360, but once I began using this new generation iMac I realized that tons of games are now produced Mac compatible. I bought Diablo 3 and put the settings on the highest quality. It runs it masterfully.I was also impressed that all of the iLife suite is now included for free! That is the equivalent of Windows throwing Microsoft Office for free....except that the Mac software makes Office look ancient. If you are worried that the Mac operating system will be too difficult to adjust to, don't! It is by far the easiest operating system I've ever encountered. Also, Microsoft just recently overhauled Windows with the release of Windows 8, so what a better time to switch? My 8 year old iMac is still running like the day I bought it; I just transferred it to my daughter.Buying the iMac on Amazon will save you about $125. That's $25 less than the teacher discount that my wife could have received by buying through Apple. Plus zero tax and free shipping. The only downfall is that you don't get to choose between the magic mouse and the trackpad. I prefer the trackpad, but if you buy through Amazon then it will ship with the magic mouse. I just took the trackpad from my 8 year old iMac and gave the new magic mouse to my daughter. One more thing....spend the extra money and go for the 27" screen! It is amazing! Clearly made for multitasking!

Another great iMac
Even though I bought this in 2016 (and it was a 2014, reconditioned computer at the time) I still consider this my "new" iMac, since it replaced the 2008 iMac that lasted me eight years (and is still sitting in my office, but so is my original 1990 Mac SE).I have had no problems with it, even with it being "used", even four years later. I did upgrade the RAM to 24GB but I was able to just add two 8GB SIMMS to the two open slots in addition to the two 4GB RAM chips that it came with, without having to toss those and put in new ones, like previous computers I had. My previous iMac had to have a hard drive and optical drive replaced, but at least it happened under the Apple Care warranty. This one has had no such problems (well, since computers don't have optical drives any more, that makes it a non-issue) I did add an external BLU-Ray DVD player/burner and it works for any thing like that I may need. Older devices that used Firewire can be used with a Thunderbolt adapter, likewise I am able to add a second monitor with a mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter.I hope to make this one last at least as long as the last one (which still works fine, but just got too slow). So I may need another in 2024.

Operating system malfunctioning - malware?
I was excited to get this new imac. But early on things went wrong. The operating system was doing strane things. I became convinced that the computer came with malware on it and returned it. When i went to a local apple store and bought the newest version of this model i became aware that this package had been previously opened. The usb cable to charge the mouse and keyboard was not included and the tape that is removed by pulling a tab was not on the package. Though it otherwise appeared that the package was original these 2 items show it had been opened. I can only surmise this had something to do with it malfunctioning. I am writing this 5 days after returning and amazon has neither acknowledged receipt of the item or processed a refund. Based on my experience i would not purchase this item here but pay the $200 more and buy from apple directly. My experience with amazon has been very positive over time but this was not good. This comes also a few days after returning a copy of windows 7 sold on amazon that was originally packaged with a computer and will only work on that computer. Say what? This should not have been resold. So both these experiences make me cautious about computer related purchases on amazon.

Wonderful iMac - mucky marks on case reminded of 'recycled' status - hence, 3 stars.
Impressed by how well packaged iMac was. Let down by the external condition of the iMac. Whilst the amazon 'renewed' gave impression of 'as new' look, disappointed of need to clean machine myself. Front of iMac was clean but back, was grubby (easily removed with damp cloth). Should not have been necessary (why 3 stars given in review) - hope that attention to detail was better inside machine than outside. Attention to detail is important and grubby marks on outside apparent, what's hidden away inside? Now to the positives. Can't understand why I have not used Mac before. Love it. Still finding my way around and getting used to it but what a difference to using Windows. Admittedly, need to replace my printer as driver only Windows based from previous system, so I need to replace my printer (not too expensive). If I decide to continue using MS Office, will probably need to purchase another mac license - still not sure whether the cost is worth it so 'jury still out' on that.Huge plus point is that iMac is 'syncable' with my iPhone etc, meaning that the compatibility between phone, pad and printer will be much easier.Booting up is much quicker, this can take upwards of 5 to 10 minutes on a Windows machine. With the iMac, takes around 1 minute. To summarise, not disappointed about making transition from Windows to Mac. Some adjustments to make but I can cope with those. The 'recycler' of my machine could have made a little more effort in ensuring that it arrived in a cleaner less grubby state (quality control somewhat lacking) - whilst I didn't pay into thousands of pounds, my £600 should have deserved a better quality control and attention to detail - I shouldn't have needed to give the machine a clean before setting it up.

Does not come with Apple keyboard or apple mouse Computer is good though.
Packaged well came on time, would recommend however Keyboard and mouse are Devolta not original.

Hard Drive was faulty
A good machine, & after too long I finally have it up & running with a technician's help: my previous Mac Mini was too old to interface properly & I had no other memory resources. But the computer arrived with a defective hard drive, which I have had replaced at reasonable cost. This is now an excellent machine & works like lightning.

Great Online Merchant
I bought this from "Stock4less" It's a Late 2013 27" IMac. Some trouble when it was shipped but they were right on it and came back with new shipping info, it arrived on time very well packed, the computer is better than advertised looks and performs like new, one very happy customer.
