PowerSmith MLACH12 Mag lithium 12-Volt Lithium Ion Replacement Charger

Bought this low priced set of tools 4 or 5 years ago, light, drill and 2 saws. Figured if they got me out of a pinch once, they were worth the price. The last thing I figured would crap out was the charger, but it did and I was just sick until I found this replacement charger. Was back up and running in no time. It was the exact replacement! Am as pleased as I can be. Only 2 things would be better: 1 If the original hadn't crapped out 2 If the replacement were free. Short of those two things, I am extremely pleased!

I have had the vacuum for which this battery charger is used for several years with only relatively minor problems. But recently the batteries failed to take a charge. I thought maybe the battery (also only a few years old) had possibly exceeded it's lifetime. So I ordered a new battery. But then the new battery failed to charge as well, I thought maybe the charger had gone bad so I ordered a new charger. The new charger also failed to charge the new battery! I contacted the manufacturer and they refused to do anything about it. I returned both the charger and battery to Amazon. I ran into a problem with that but Amazon graciously made it right very quickly and I got my refunds. I ended up buying a brand new vacuum and I am EXTREMELY pleased with it. In fact, the new vacuum was much better quality for about the same price as the previous charger and battery combined. So I am happy now. But I would definitely NOT recommend this charger or the batteries it charges.

The PowerSmith MLACH12 battety charger charged the first battery, but would not charge the second battery at all. the red light said that the battery was bad, I took the second battery apart and found that one of the terminals inside had Not been soldered to the printed circuit board. I soldered it to the board and the reassembled the battery and it charged with no problum. I then took the first battery apart and it had the same thing, the prongs were just in the board, but not soldered, I soldered both of them and reassembled it. My other charger got rain on shorted it out.

when charging you must either put weight on battery or hold it down firmly for minimum 1.5 minutes maybe it will work & maybe it won't how would you rate that

I lost the original charger and am very happy to find a replacement. The charger was shipped quickly. My battery(s) had beendischarged so long I thought they might be lost; however, the charger worked well to restore them. One of my battery seemedto be lost, but I gave it a rest, while charging the other battery, and tried to charge it again. This time it charged perfectly.
