Great Flash
Build quality is not on par with the Canon but at the price point I hoped but didn't expect it to be. Ettl can be wonky at times but the same can be said of the Canon. Batteries seem to go quicker than with other flashes but it's not so bad it's a deal breaker (about 200 ettl pops so not full power). As far as durability is concerned I got a warranty so I'm not really concerned as long as all three don't go out at the same time during an event (I will update this review if anything happens). The flash head does not have a push button release like the Canon but I actually prefer that. This has both master and slave functionality in both wireless radio mode and optical transmission mode and pairs perfectly with the Canon RT system. Overall if this thing lasts a few years it will have been a great investment considering you can get four of these for the price of one Canon.UPDATE: group functions don't seem to work in ETTL but are ok in Manual, which is weird because they work just fine with the YN E3 RT which came out way before these. I'm not sure if mine are defective or just designed that way.

Great alternative to Canon's 600EX II-RT flash unit
Not quite as refined as Canon's own 600EX II-RT flash unit. However, I would expect the Canon flash to be better built at 4x the price of the Yongnuo. Still, the Yongnuo is very well built and has not let me down yet. I have two Canon 600EX II-RT flashes and three Yongnuo equivalents. I think that shows the trust I have in the Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II flash.

Exelente flash speed light
Me encanto este flash Younguo, lo utilizo con mi camara canon y trabaja estupendamente bien. Se sincroniza con mi camara y los otros flashes ya sea como master o esclavo. Estoy muy contenta con mi compra, se los recomiendo.

worth saving 400.00 on the original
only giving it 4 stars because of overheating issue. I recently bought this flash as a backup for my yongnuo yn600ex-rt I. i used it at a 125 person wedding and it worked relatively well except several times it just stopped working due to excessive use. It just overheated! In an 8 hour time span I took about 1200 shots. Later in the evening for the reception and then dancing alone took 600 shots in a matter of 2 hours. I dont know the canon brand could have done any better. So all and all im pleased with the results. ETTL works great on it.Ive tried the canon brand and I cant tell the difference.

Good flash but issues in packaging and fulfillment
Good flash but not the best fulfillment. As many reviewers have said, this flash mimics the function of the Canon-brand unit quite well, albeit not of quite the same build quality. If not abused, the unit works as expected (at least the first two I've purchased have.) This particular package, though, failed someone's quality control process somewhere as the latch on the battery door was rattling around in the plastic bag in which the flash was enclosed. So it was obvious before opening the packaging that we had a problem. The "EasyShot" diffuser had been forced onto the outside of the "bubble wrap" padding of the flash but placed within the original Yongnuo box. I doubt that's how the flash comes from the factory. I did not attempt to use the diffuser but noticed that the plastic was much more pliable than a competing product I've used (and bought from Amazon, the "Sto-Fen OM-ET" diffuser.) The "EasyShot" product may have worked as well photographically as the Sto-Fen product (for which I have two of the latter on my first two YN600-EX flashes), but from a longevity perspective, I believe I prefer the more-substantial "feel" of the Sto-Fen diffuser. The Sto-Fen product has produced good images from this series of speed lights. So this unit and its diffuser went back to Amazon. Instead of 1 star, I gave an extra star because Amazon was very efficient handling the return and credited my account when the return tracking number was registered.Since I did want 3 of these flashes and just to be sure that Yongnuo wasn't suffering some quality or packaging issue, I ordered a replacement from one of the major NY "photo" suppliers. The unit came in looking just like the first two units I had purchased previously (which includes at least one from Amazon) with no broken parts or evidence of packaging manipulations post-manfacturing. I'd give the flash itself 4 stars (deducting 1 star due to being a bit weak in quality particularly with the hot shoe tensioning lever and gasket that likes to come off.) But this particular combo and however the fulfillment process is executed was not what I've usually experienced with Amazon. You might want to consider alternatives to avoid some disappointment.

Highly Recommend these!
I keep a Canon 600 EX-RT on my camera at all times, and use two of these Yongnuo 600 EX-RTs on a couple of Manfrotto 12' light stands for OCF at wedding receptions. They're fast, reliable, and just as good as my Canon. In fact, I bought three more as a back-up set-up that I often use to teach/lend to my second shooters. Highly recommend these flashes!

Yeti approved!
I am very satisfied with this speedlight. I have been using the 580EXii Canon for quite a while now and I have been wanting to get into a radio trigger system. Before I purchased the Yongnuo I almost pulled the trigger on buying a refurb Canon 600ex RT. But for half the price of the refurb canon I was able to get this speedlight a YN-E3-RT transmitter and a YNE3-RX receiver to trigger my existing canon flash. Although as of yet I am still unable to fire my 580exii flash with the receiver this flash that I am reviewing has worked flawlessly as well as the transmitter I purchased to go with it. Also it came with a nice rubbery diffuser that will fit either flash unit.

Same features as the Canon but 1/7th of the price. Ideal for the home photographic studio
I used this flashgun with a Yongnuo radio transmitter for TTL portrait photography using my Canon 7D Mark 2. My set-up previously used the 7D Mark 2’s built in flash gun as an optical trigger for a Canon 580 EXII in a soft box and a 430 EX II shooting into an umbrella. The optical trigger system was fairly unreliable indoors, as it relies on line-of-sight and was hopeless outdoors. It was such a relief to use these flash guns via radio triggers instead. It took about 30 minutes to set them up, allocating a unique flash ID to my system (my birth date!) and linking each to the on-camera flash trigger. The instructions were quite well written. I was then able to shoot away to my heart’s content, knowing that I could put the flash guns anywhere I want to.In terms of build quality, these are a good imitation of the Canon 600 RT flashgun. My 580 EX II flashgun has far higher build quality, which is easily apparent when tilting the flashgun head or locking onto the hotshot bracket. However, in practice, they yield very similar results at 1/7 of the price. This makes it a reasonably priced purchase for amateur photographers seeking to set up a simple, portable home studio.

Great flash unit at a fith of the price of the Canon unit
I have two of these units as well as a couple of Canon 600EX-RT. I have had absolutely no issues with the batteries draining whilst the units are switched off in either Yongnuo unit. In terms of overheating and battery drain during use in my experience and with my type of usage they are only marginally worse than the Canon units. At a cost of five to one you can afford to swap out multiple Yongnuo units while the canon is still cooling and still be quids in.A bigger gripe is that the manual mode is very limited in capability with no External A or more important External M modes. Probably not a problem for most professionals but certainly an issue for the enthusiast looking for advanced fill flash or other advanced manually metered techniques. They do feel a little more delicate than the Canon equivalent but nothing has broken yet or even felt like it is going to break.Firmware update is very straightforward and allows for functional improvements, something that Canon should consider very seriously and could perhaps enable Yongnuo to improve manual mode if they so chose.I also have the Yongnuo E3 transmitter / trigger, in my opinion this is better than the Canon unit as it has a better range and also an AF assist beam which I have found very useful.I'm a big Canon fan but in the flash unit arena they are simply too expensive, a case in point being the MT-26EX-RT which is over twice the price of the Nikon equivalent, someone at Canon has lost the plot and probably a lot of the flash market also.

Can't really fault these for the money..
I've used these now for getting on a year. I have to admit I was nervous at straying away from the Canon brand but these were to be used for mainly off camera flash. Much lest costly if a guest at a wedding knocked one over or they went over in the wind. I'd read a few reports about recycle time/draining batteries so bought some JJC BP-CA1 battery packs to use with them.(I've never needed them.)I use these with the YN-E3-RT and have never had a single problem. (touch wood) I also use them as slaves sometimes when the Canon 600ex-II RT is on Camera. Again no issues at all. Yes both the rubber weather seals fell off within a month or so but if I'm using them in wet weather they are in a freezer bag anyway.. I like the look of the Godox system but I don't feel the need to change just for the sake of it. These do the job every time. p.s throw the diffuser in the bin and use MagMod ;)

They do not like night shots and keep showing a battery sign and ...
Well I have 3 Canon 600EXRT'S and to be honest have had nothing but trouble with them off camera. They do not like night shots and keep showing a battery sign and messing about. I do a lot of off camera images so relied on them. I bought a profit A1 which I love but don't want to lift 10 ft inn the air on a winter wedding so wanted something reliable but affordable to replace should the poop hit the scoop.I bought one of these Yongnuo tings and used it on a wedding over the weekend in the piddle of February and blow my socks off my heels the darn thing fired every shot without any tantrums. I bought the Yongnuo ST gadget to and that works well with the Yongnuo and the canons although as per another review it does seem to fire the canons at a slightly different time when testing the ST off camera. have yet to do a multiple set up with both systems but so far so good and if it don't work withe Canons I'll just but=y another Yongnuo as the stuff does the job. Still used my Canons for the on camera stuff though as I doubt the Yongnuo will last as long.

Great flash for the cost, but using too much battery power
Useful low budget flashgun for Canon DSLR's. Works fine with my Canon 5d Mark IV. The main defect which I experienced throughout my sessions was it kept on gulping battery power. The flash tend to overheats fast especially when you are using on ETTL mode and using too much battery power. I had to change about 12 full power batteries to run 2 hour session to take almost 500 shots. The used batteries were piping hot as I couldn't able to hold it my hands. Wouldn't recommend this flashgun for PRO photographers. I would only recommend this to amateur and semi-pro photographers. Great for learning flash photography. It's almost a prototype of Canon 600 RT-II speedlite, which does the same work and produce good results. But really concerned with the fact that how long it will last for.
