Just installed it today, and the instructions were straightforward to follow. You do need a 3/4 socket or wrench to secure the mount. Overall, it seems good quality, and the mount isn’t too long for it to stick out that much.

My only complaint is the shaft could have been shorter to make a more flush fit.

Works without issue on my Golf Mk7. Install was simple. Occasionally I have to straighten the plate because it's not a 100% fit, but the movement is minimal and probably would go unnoticed by many. It looks the same in my car as in the listing photos. Worth it for the money, especially since similar products are going for a lot more on other sites.

I purchased this product the first time and it came without one screw and a plastic cap. The whole thing was loose so I ordered another set. Second set also came missing some parts but I was able to combine from the original set to make due. I was still short one screw at the end. After street parking my car I came back to it and the plate was crooked. I think someone backed into it. Lo and behold, I was driving on the highway and the whole thing came off. License plate and all is gone. Needless to say, I do not recommend this product and would like my money back. I can’t even return for a refund because the unit fell off while I was driving and now I need to take an additional day off of work to go to the dmv to get a another plate. What a disaster.

Install was easy, make sure you have your own wrench and screwdriver on hand as those are not provided in the package. I would advise against buying this product. The license plate will rotate with very little force, even if meticulously tightened.

This is a great product. I got a new car and didn't want to put holes in the front bumper of my 2019 VW Golf GTI (American model) so I bought this. I was a little skeptical at first reading the reviews but when it came in and I impressed the moment saw all the parts and pieces. Very well made. I was worried about the vibration of normal day driving and engine running so I bought some normal loctite and put it on the threads of most the screws and the main piece that goes into the tow point. The only bad thing is that the instructions say to use a 3/4 inch socket or wrench. Those do not fit it. Way to big. But a open ended 19 millimeter wrench will work.

This mount is a good value compared to some of the other more expensive, custom options for the mk7 GTI. I thought I'd give this one a try, and it hasn't disappointed after 4 weeks of being installed and driven regularly in the city and on the highway, on bumpy roads and in the rain. Be careful not to over tighten the bolts, as per the instructions. I get the feeling that the manufacturer either upgraded this product to better materials after reading the previous reviews — but I also suspect that some people weren't careful and stripped the bolts because they didn't read the instructions. I installed my plate with a rubber plate frame, which helped with the overall appearance, I think.

It's perfect for a GTI, looks great. A little annoying that the little screws they give u stick out a little from the base that the plate fits on, because it seems it should be flush w/ the base plate. But it still works fine.
