The Genasun GV-5-Li works perfectly with my 4S LiFePO4 battery. It’s compact, super efficient, and the MPPT charging really maximizes my solar panel output. I love the built-in low voltage disconnect. it protects my battery and connected load automatically. Simple to install and set up, and very reliable so far. Worth the price!

I bought this for charging my lithium ion battery I use for my cpap machine when camping I had to set up my own connections and mount in a small box it works very well is heavy duty and is the only small portable ion solar controller I have found.unit seems to charge my ion battery faster than same solar panel and regular agm controller charge my agm battery the solar panel I use is the instapark 27 also very good product from amazon...it is now 2019 and unit still in great working order. I have set it up, packed it up and moved it many times it gets bumped and jossled and still works ...good unit ..

I bought this controller for my portable amateur radio operations. It works flawlessly and chargers my bioenno 12v battery as I’m using my ham radio. I used it with a Yaesu Ft818. Worked great. Highly recommend this controller. The solar panel I use is a Powerfilm 14w rollable. Tho I have used it with powerfilm 20 and 5w foldable. 73s

This product works great. I deployed a Genasun GV-5-Li-14.2V controller, a pair of LiFePO4 batteries, and a solar panel on a industrial roof top application. I receive regular "heartbeats" from the installation that include the battery charge levels. I'm getting great charging even on cloudy days. The power output is very clean and my electronics are working without issues; Unlike when I tried a PWM controller and the electrical noise was awful. Great job Genasun!

High efficiency, radio silent, no electrolytic capacitors. I seem to have outlived many of my capacitors; electrolytic capacitors are close to witchcraft when new.

I have been using this Genasun controller in a partially shaded location in cloudy Ohio and it has protected my battery and kept my connected light system going every night. If you want a controller that works dependably this is the one. The only readout I need is to see my system work all the time. This controller actually has only 5-star reviews, all other ratings have no detail and should be ignored in my opinion.

I've tried several of these devices, all of which were somewhat wonky, but this one, though more costly, is very well designed, small, and works beautifully. I use these to run solar powered pumps and aerators with lithium ion batteries, so if they fail, then my little ponds are at risk. It's pretty minimalistic and doesn't have the nice digital readouts other units had, but, for me, I'm happier with the reliable functionality than with the other units that would hang from time to time.

Worked great for 4 months. Then failed in a truly bad fashion output voltage no longer regulated. Might as well have been a length of wire. As this is designed for LiFePO4 Batteries that would have destroyed them. Wonderful, fails at its primary purpose. When notified the seller "Green Energy Direct" their reply was too bad so sad not our problem here is the manufacturer's email you deal with it. Surprise surprise "Not our fault you deal with it." Rather disappointing is an understatement.

Wanted a solar LiFePo4 charger for Ham radio. Going by their reputation, selected Genasun. Really RF quiet. One thing to watch out for: should battery kick out (BMS trip, fuse failure etc.) or if panel is connected before battery, charger can output up to the open circuit voltage of the solar panel. Concerned about this and wanting to protect my +$1k radio, I installed a surge suppressor diode along with a couple of caps to tame this...seems to work fine. Toyed with crowbar, but diode is a lot simpler. Chat with tech support about the potential for high voltage output went well. They were very responsive and suggested another model. The other model was a bit better in this regard, but could still have a higher voltage spike. Ultimately, this made me decide to implement the external protection (i.e. diode). Very happy with this now...charger just works and I don't "hear" it.
