1hr to Charge 8 AA Batteries is AMAZING!
I work as an independent filmmaker and have tons of gear that needs batteries. Specifically my audio gear is eating up AA all day long. The sound recorder takes 8 AA inside and each wireless Transmitter and Receiver use 4 each. So 8 for the recorder and 16 for the 4 wireless systems. Even with the 2800mha batteries, they won't last a whole shooting day, so it's best to replace in the middle of the day or so. (Lunch)This charger just hammers the juice back into the batteries faster than any other charger I've seen. In fact, I was producing a feature and hired a sound guy. The poor guy kept going back to his 4 Battery charger to see if his batteries were charged. After I saw him panicked, I asked him if he needed help. He was worried about running out of batteries for his wireless units. I happened to have my charger and took it out. Popped his batteries in and in less than 30 mins they were charged. He was amazed. Couldn't believe how fast this thing was. He certainly took the name down and I bet he bought one the next day.Pros:FAST Charger (not many others out there that charge this fast. Some say fast but they do 2-3hrs. This baby is fast)8 Bays (the ability to charge 8 batteries at a time is super helpful)Individual Bays (you don't need to charge 2 at a time as some older chargers needed)Soft Charge (with the soft charge feature you are able to recondition batteries that were fully discharged and bring them back to life)Removable power cord. (I see some chargers that have power cords that can't be removed. Harder to store that way)Cons:LCD display is weak, no backlight and hard to see at certain angles. Would be nice to have a much better display. Not a fan of the curvy nature of the design. Would rather have something square that was easier to store and stack.Price (can't complain too much as I'm sure the electronics are more expensive to be able to charge fast. and well worth the money for the speed)The Pros completely outweigh the Cons. This is a very good charger and I highly recommend it. I bought it so long ago, I couldn't even see it on my order history so I wasn't able to be a verified buyer, but all these years and it's still working fine. I don't use it all the time, only when I have a film shoot. In fact I'm replenishing my AA supply of rechargeable batteries. I'm buying (24) AA 2800mha from Soxono and was thinking about buying another one of these so I could charge 16 at a time, but truth is that it charges fast enough that it's not needed. Specially since I'll have about 48 batteries in total. I can charge them all the night before and can probably go the entire day without needing to charge.Hope this helped someone on the fence about getting this expensive but powerful charger. If you need the speed, it's totally worth it.

Pathetic/useless charger! utter failure!
I have quite a few of Sanyo Eneloop, GP, La Crosse (got them with the La Crosse BC9009 charger), Panasonic AAA & AA batteries.I got this charger primarily because it had 8 charging bays, had battery charge cycling/conditioning capability & was similar in features with the La Crosse BC9009 charger which I currently use (almost similar, the LA Crosse has a bit more options to choose the various charging/discharging current. I am not a fan of the La Crosse charger either due to some problems with the buttons that went bad quite soon after purchase...u need to press them hard...very hard for them to work...but that charger in my experience has been so much better than this Maha charger!!).I did read the -ve reviews & ignored them due to the huge no of +ve reviews (comparatively) this product has!The first problem (which I had already read about) did cause some inconvenience. The power adapter with this thing has a very bad split of cable length! Its neither near the charger nor near the wall socket & hence its difficult to place it anywhere with ease! And the power adapter is a sizeable unit! But this is certainly not that huge a problem. The worst thing about this charger is its inability to fully charge the batteries at all! The 1st three charging bays on the left side of the charger still charge a bit more but the remaining 5 bays usually show that the charging is done within 15-30 mins (varies!) If you check the batteries using another charger (like the La Crosse charger by discharging them), you get to know that the batteries were hardly charged that much. Before anybody thinks that there was a fault with the batteries, let me clarify the same batteries charge correctly in other chargers fully. Plus the same batteries charge more (still not completely) if placed in the 1st 3 slots of this charger itself! But that doesnt mean the 1st 3 slots are good for charging too! They are just better than the remaining slots! None of the batteries was charged properly by this chargerIf this wasnt enough, just trying to charge cycle/condition the batteries, brings out the uselessness of this piece of plastic out a bit more. All is well for just under a minute, after which the batteries are suddenly "Done" (flashing). Thats the end as far as trying to charge cycle the batteries is concerned. Fast, isnt it?? Too fast... :-(Again not a huge problem, but to highlight the crap quality of materials put into this charger (which I had already read but ignored from other reviews):- The LCD on this thing is unbelievably bad!! There is only a particular angle from which it is readable...there is a limit to cheap LCDs & this one must be free for somebody (looks like a reject)! If you just touch this thing on the top, it goes wild with all the splattering (typical of LCDs but not to the extent as on this one) globs of liquid inside the LCD...it feels that you have broken it! I dont remember seeing a LCD as cheap & bad as this one. Amazing! There could have been a better LCD placed on this thing...I certainly dont expect an Iphone Retina display quality on it, but come on, this one bad is not ok too!! This charger cost does not qualify under cheap by any means...so put better parts!- The charger is supposed to get hot (I get that) during charging...but I am sure its not supposed to get hot to the point of melting down or exploding!!! I was scared like hell the first time I touched this charger (after around 15-20mins of use on soft charge mode)...This thing burned & hurt my hand (not a serious burn, but it did burn & trouble me for sometime...)...The batteries were even hotter (that single charge must have knocked off a few months life from the batteries!). I read it again & again in the reviews...but you have got to feel it to believe it! I am sure this much heat as produced by this unit is certainly not right for anything (& particularly the batteries)! I didnt even put it on its full quick charge mode even once after this! Does this check/have a temperature cut out? I dont know. This thing is a complete fail...this is the first ever review I am writing on Amazon for any product, because this product has disgusted me beyond my tolerance! I am lazy in writing reviews, but this time I thought that others should certainly know about this bad a product & stay away from it, & hope it helps other buyers.I know there are a huge no of good reviews too here...but this is my experience...

Update : Dead on arrival.
Update: Oct 06, 2021After reporting the dead on arrival issue to both Amazon and supplier. I got a replacement within a few days. And this time, the charger works as it should. I'm happy now.I open the box and plug in all the cables but nothing happens. Further checking find that the green power light on the power supply does not light up. I use another good AC cord but same issue. I contact Amazon and the manufacturer tech support. I'll update later to see what's the result.

Molto valido
