ok for easy tach work. Not effective at longer range or shallow angle
It was cheap and worked ok at low speeds up to around 2000 RPM at close range. I was able to get it to read up to about 11,000 RPM with a very steep viewing angle. With a shallow viewing angle (like 45 degrees) the reflectance wasn't enough for my tach. I ended up buying the manufacturer Monarch Instrument T5 retroreflective tape instead. It worked even at a shallow viewing angle from 6' away through a protective lexan shield. It costs $40 a roll of course...

Easily cut to length and stick pretty good to most surfaces i've used them on.
