Excellent quality, easy to adjust for comfort carry
Purchased this pack for my wildlife photography use. The quality is excellent, zippers, plenty of pockets and durable. Load adjusters are perfect; belt, shoulder, and then should cinch. The innovative mesh back is comfortable and keeps load off of back. Water bladder fits nicely, if used. Additional small pockets in belt. This is a good purchase for me and well worth a look if shopping for a day (or overnight) pack.

Great Bag!
Great bag for day hiking and then some. Holds everything you need for a day hike with a little room to spare. Just got back from a week at Yosemite and hiked up to Little Yosemite Valley via Mist Trail/Muir trail as well as up to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls- this bag was super comfortable and can't wait until I can take it out again.

Very comfortable pack
This thing is awesome. My first test of it I carried a full load up Grandfather Mountain, and this pack very comfortable. It also rides well so going up ladders and cables and around boulders it's easy to maneuver. I've used it a few more times and am amazed how comfortable it is. Very adjustable and it also has a number of zippered pockets that make it very easy to keep things organized.

Phenomenal support
This backpack is worth the money. Hands down. I spent quite a bit of time deciding between this and the Osprey Talon. The Stratos is heavier by a bit, but the trade-off is that it has tremendous spinal and back support. That's my biggest praise of this backpack. The metal frame and ventilation you get are top notch and are worth the extra bulk and size. It's not worth doing something smaller/lighter if the mechanics end up putting more weight on your spine. I used this as my daypack while hiking in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range in the Peruvian Andes. The only caveat with this backpack is that it technically may not meet airplane carry on requirements. Most airport staff probably won't notice, and I usually put it below the seat in front of me without much issue; the backpack would stick out a bit, and I'm sure some flight attendant could have made a big deal if they wanted to, but it wasn't by that much. I would easily recommend this to friends if they asked me for backpack recommendations. Also, I don't recommend going too much smaller than the 34/36 liters

Solid Bag With Room For Improvement
I'm not sure what is up with Osprey's current generation of bags, but I've seem some odd choices in product design lately. It was really hard to find day pack that checked all the boxes for me. I got the Stratos as a free replacement for an old Osprey bag that was destroyed (great warranty service!). Ultimately it was the closest thing to what I was looking for, but it's not perfect.First, what I like:- Incredibly comfortable! I have never had another bag that was this comfortable. It transfers weight to the hips perfectly, vents well and doesn't chafe anywhere. It can feel a little stiff for super active pursuits (e.g. cross country skiing), but that's a tradeoff for the excellent support.- Really well designed continuous hipbelt with generous webbing- Fits long Torso! Mine is 21.5" and this works perfectly.- Great color- Generally appropriate size for most day adventures- Stow and go trekking pole feature is great! And my grips:- Weird form factor (very slender and long) makes it hard sometimes to fit things. It's never as much room as it looks like it should be- The compression straps are in a weird spot, and the fused female end limits their flexibility. They still work for strapping in gear, but not as well as a more traditional design.- Some unnecessary features that just add weight and aren't that useful, like the sleeping bag compartment. You would have to be going seriously ultralight to use this as an overnight bag...and if you are that ultralight why would you buy a 3lb bag? Makes no sense. Likewise the lashing straps at the bottom are not that useful for a day pack.- The stash pocket in the front is completely weird. It doesn't really stretch and so it uses space on the inside of the bag. Think of this an an organizing pocket more than anything else. Personally, I would have liked to have seen a stretch pocket of some kind here instead.- The materials are a little odd and stiff. Not sure what to make of that yet. We'll see how durable they are, but with Osprey's warranty, it doesn't matter much!- Hip belt pockets are good, but I'd like to see them be big enough to hold an average cell phone.Overall I'm satisfied enough with this bag. My perfect bag would include the harness of this model, and the bag layout of the Manta 34. Are you reading this Osprey? :)

Wow - great day and overnight pack
Many many hikes later this is my go to pack for the day or even an overnighter. The built in frame is awesome and perfect for warmer climates since it keeps the pack off your lower back. Would definitely recommend

fabulous day pack
I've been using this pack for about 2 weeks after upsizing from a 28l Deuter pack. Has a sophisticated and extremely comfortable suspension, is very spacious inside, and has just enough pockets and compartments to hold all of my stuff. Purchased primarily to allow me to hike with my photographic equipment, and for this it is extremely well suited. The integrated rain shield is much appreciated and will add a layer of protection for my cameras and lenses. Highly recommended.

Top !
