A great price for a great product
We installed these to spotlight some of the art we have around our home. We set most of them about 18" from the wall and they work great for adding light and highlighting our art. Installation was really straightforward if you've ever done any electrical before. The best tool for cutting the hole in the drywall is a tool purpose built for the job. I bought the Milwaukee adjustable hole cutter. You can set it to the exact size you need and it works for every size round hole you could need when installing can lights. It even has a dust guard that help you make way less mess than hand cutting or using a traditional hole saw.Unlike others I had no trouble in adjusting the lights to the exact angle we wanted. Sure it wasn't a smooth gimble action, but you don't really want it to move all that easily or it would never stay where you wanted it. We've had the lights installed now for a couple of weeks and had no problems with the bulbs themselves. The push in connectors aren't my favorite, I had one loose neutral connection in the chain that I had to track down, but that was the only problem I had in the installation for all six lights. I don't have them on a dimmer yet, that might happen down the road. If I have any problems with that, I'll update my review. But for now, they're exactly what we wanted.

Easy and they look great
I purchased to sets of six and installed them on Saturday, it took about 5 hours including layout. Thankfully, I have a pretty handy friend and I also purchased a 3.25 in circle cutting bit for my drill, also I have easy access to the attic above the kitchen. I removed two set's of track lighting plus an over the table pendant type fixture. I'm using a Lutron light and motion sensitive dimmer. The whole set up is a great new look with highly controllable lighting options. Working with the electrical connections was simple and easy. Some people have remarked about the small box to work in, just unclip and open the door, there was plenty of room, to make connections and get everything back in the box, we used 14-2 wire, heavier might cause crowding.

Install was a breeze and great quality for the price
The directions given in the package don't explain too well how to install, but once I installed the second one, I had the process down. Just make sure to reach into the can once its in the ceiling and push out the tabs until they snap out of the can and they stay very flush against the ceiling. I was a little worried that the junction box on top of the light was too small to stuff the wires into. It is a little tight, but if you just pull all the wires through and hang them out of the box a few inches, separate them out and organize them, and cut them all to the same length, it's very easy to get the stab connector to connect to 2 other lights (you can run the power into the light and then split off to feed up to 2 other lights). I was a little concerned that 6 LED lights wouldn't light my entire 400sqft basement, but they do a great job lighting it. I've already blown 2 dimmer switches that apparently weren't compatible with the LED lights and I had to order one specifically tested for the lights. The LEDs sent with the lights had some dimmer switches listed on the box that are compatible (LUTRON: DVCL-153P, MA-600, D603P, MA-600. And LEVITON: 6631, 6161, 6681, 6633, IPI06, TTI06). Or you can go to tourchstar.com and see a list there. I had to order the DVCL-153P online and it hasn't come yet for me to test. Other than the run around with the dimmer switch, the lights are the cheapest thing out there that look very professional.

Good quality, compact, LED recessed light
I am in the midst of installing right now. Here are some initial thoughts:Installation Details:- installing two strings of these lights with 5+ on each circuit in kitchen- controlling lights with Lutron Caseta Dimmer switch (Apple HomeKit Compatible)- so far 6 lights installedReview points:- one issue is that it is tough to use BX Armored cable into the electrical box on top...the cable connectors extend far enough out that the circle cut into the drywall is not big enough to fit the cables through. I had to cut a little more drywall out to push the cans into the ceiling. If the electrical knock outs were on top of the electrical box, this would not be an issue- the LED lights dim very well with the Lutron Caseta Dimmer switch- so far lights look great- very satisfied with these lights

Defective Product...lights burn out quickly
I purchased almost 40 of these lights for a home we recently built. They are rated to last 25,000 hours by the manufacturer. However, one by one they started to burn out far before they ever got close to even 5,000 hours. I replaced the first few lights thinking it was just a few of them that were defective and just noticed 3 more lights in our kitchen have burned out. Contacted the seller and they said there is nothing they can do since it is outside of their limited warranty window. Totally dissatisfied and wish I had gone with a different brand.

Great quality, great price.
These are very high quality lights. We just installed 12 of them, and they look fantastic. Every light worked fine. They really are well made. You cut a three inch hole and pop them in. very easy to install, they even come with up-to-date quick connectors. Good for "old work" but we used them in a new ceiling. They are very cute, and put off a lot of light. Our ceiling was only 5/16 inch thick so we just glued extra material, like a shim, on top of the 5/16 material, and it worked great. Highly recommend.

33% failure rate. Poor quality
I’ve had a lot of problems with this lights flickering. It seems the electrical connector expands as it heats up, breaking continuity with the contacts, causing the light to go out. Once the light goes off, it cools off and regains continuity, causing the light to come back on. It’s extremely annoying as well as inconvenient. The light that’s doing it is at the most difficult place to access. Along the stairwell, at the highest point.I have had 2 out of 6 do this. I would not recommend these lights. I have had them for a year and the issue started within 6 months.I like the light and the design. The quality is typical Chinese junk.
