Kopul CBT-MF Multi-Function Cable Tester with Dual Chassis

Generally functional cable tester, plastic body and cheap battery compartment make it feel low quality. Very useful function to seperate the tester for long cable runs, but apart from that, there are way better units for the money.

Not sure as to why the other reviewers seem to rate the product so low. We used the Kopul tester to wire up A/V & data cables for an entire radio station, and it performed flawlessly.

Meh it needs 2 x 9 Volt batteries.I keep taking them out of my smoke detectors putting my 7 kids in danger.

good price love that these are your able to separate and you can put one at one into the cable and one at the other end of a cable in another room and send the signal crossed so you don't have to pull the whole cable into one room it's good for working on Church sound systems

Unfortunately after a day's use of testing continuity of audio cables the tester became flaking and then finally quit working. I think the problem was the internal circuitry on the sender stopped sensing continuity on PIN 1 when cables were inserted and therefore wouldn't test properly. Sometimes turning the sender unit on or off would make it work, and sometimes reinserting the cable. But I'd spend more time getting the sender to sense PIN 1 on the cable then it'd take to test it. I'm guessing the quality of the internal circuitry to isn't up to standard. I wouldn't buy this unit again because I can't trust that it's givng me accurate results. Which is unfortunately, because its a neat tester that has potential exspecially since its able to separate for testing cable ends at two different locations. But the last thing I want is a tester that indicates a faulty cable when its a perfectly good cable.
