I bought both the regular and combo edge. Good knives for money.
I am a knifeaholic. I have a lot of knives, and Kershaw is one of my favorite brands. The Kershaw Burst was a knife I have been eyeing for a while. It was cheap, looked good and just looked like a solid addition to my collection. Well, it is a nice little blade. It came sharp enough, pretty good steel for the money and the assisted open mechanism is solid. For the money, this is a very solid knive, especially because you can beat on it and not care because it is inexpensive. So, why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, the reason is because the flipper/actuator is really hard on my finger. After a while of use, the flipper really tears your index finger up and mine actually went numb and was very tender for a couple of days. I don't want to be too hard on this knife because it's solid for the cash, but if that flipper wasn't so sharp and hard on the finger, I would have given it 5 stars for the money. The only other issues were minor like centering and the liner lock which seemed solid enough wasn't my favorite. Still, this is a solid knife that will certainly suffice as an EDC blade, and one you won't worry about beating on. Just be aware of that flipper!

Also for Women
I decided to get a knife to keep in my handbag when a pair of scissors was needed and wasn't handy. I have already used this to cut corrugated cardboard with the straight edge and rope and a plastic zip tie with the serrated edge. It handled these tasks easily. I like the embossed handle which makes it less likely to slip in your hand.Since this is my first pocket knife, I can't really compare it with others. It was easy to figure out how to open but I have to remember to keep my fingers out of the way because when you push the lever, it pops open quickly. However, I had to really read the instructions over and over to figure out that this has a frame lock and how to close it. Now that I know, it is very easy to close. The size seems proper for my hand and it has a weighty, sturdy feel to it.Since I am probably not the only women who is buying this for herself (or having someone buy it as a gift for them), I would like if there was a choice of another color besides black. A bright color would make it easier to find in a handbag.

Good inexpensive EDC
Nice little knife. A bit stiff at first but put a couple drops of air tool oil on it and worked it a bit and that was solved. The butt end is a bit pointy and dug into my hand a bit so I swiped the very corner a couple of times with very fine file and that took care of it. These cheap speedsafe's are nice little knives for the price even if they are made in China. Sharp, tight, and solid. Won't last more than six months cause I'll lose it. That's why I don't spend more than 20 bucks on a knife.Update, Bought another one as I broke my original using it to pry (My fault). I had originally replaced it with another newer Kershaw model (1835TBLKST) and it was complete crap. Nylon bushings instead of copper (or brass?), blade and clip always coming loose, thin liner lock. It's too bad Kershaw discontinued this and have lowered their quality standards on their lower priced knives. Tac-force makes better knives.Glad they still had some these available. Get one before you can't!!

Good price good knife
This is an excellent knife for the price! After 2 months of moderate use (cutting cardboard, nylon rope, cloth, and plastic.) It has held up very well, the blade is wickedly sharp out of the box and flicks open with authority. It has a very strong spring so you know it will always deploy to the locking position. The pocket clip is durable and also reversible for both sides. It has a hard plastic nylon handle with scales (its ight, but what do you expect for the price?) The blade is very strong and keeps an edge well. The blade also looks bad@$$, but not to intimidating that people will call the cops if you use it to cut some tape or somethin. Still I've gotten loads of compliments that it looks good. Their has been no blade play in any direction (when the blade wiggles in the locked position ex: up and down or side to side.)Pros-Durable-Reliable-Sharp out of da box-Good locking mechanism-Fast deployment-Pocket clip is reversibleCons-Body feels a little lightAll in all it is an excellent knife and worth the purchase

Now I see why people love Kershaw!
I own several knives, but even though this knife is relatively cheap, it is not cheaply made! I really like the feel of the knife in my hand, good grip, not too heavy. I also like the tip-up configuration of this knife. When I first started buying this type of assisted opening knives, I could not understand why they were tip-down. It just has never made any sense to me that I have to pull the knife out of my pocket and then flip it before I could open it. I found it very awkward. I have several friends that have owned Kershaws for years, and when I would show them one of my latest purchases of similar knives, they were not impressed. Now I can really tell how much difference there is between them. The speed safe is faster and smoother thank my other knives, and there is absolutely no play in the blade at all, which I have found to be a problem over time with some others, like the Tac-Force brand. At this price, there is no reason not to pay another few dollars for true quality. Thanks, Amazon!

Excellent knife, quick to open & affordable
I am not a knife fanatic, and the longer review posted by another reviewer here does a better job of covering the finer details of this knife.I purchased 2 of these Kershaw Speedsafe knives, one for myself and one for my wife who wanted something to keep with her. I echo the remarks that the knife opens quickly and positively; it's light to carry, and not so deep when folded that it's uncomfortable when clipped into my front pocket. The clip is really tight though, and it can be a challenge to get this knife clipped onto my pockets without damaging my pants. I also agree that there is a very audible click when the blade is deployed, and I can see in certain situations that this could be less than ideal. But this knife has excellent features all-around, and for less than $25 it's very hard to beat. I have been more than happy with it and would buy another Kershaw product based on my experience with this product so far.
