1200 Words for the SSAT & ISEE: For Private and Independent School Admissions

Very good and helpful book

This is a thin volume which is just a vocabulary list printed in tiny fonts. Doesn't even say which words are for which level. Not useful at all.

Pretty charm as pictured!

My son got this book as a gift. It is just a compilation of words that are not even categorized by level of difficulty. My son took the ISEE Upper Level Test and didn't find this book helpful.

130 pages word list, between 8 and 10 words per page, listed alphabetically. Accompanied by 12 half-page terse quizzes displayed in boxes. Well bound, cleanly printed, does not feel cheap. No obvious typos on reading the first few pages. If you're looking for something that matches the title of the book, "1200 Words for the SSAT & ISEE", then I can certainly recommend this one.Example: First entry:Abate (verb) To become weaker; to decrease in strength.. The pilot waited for the wind to abate before flying the plane.To reduce in degree, in force, or in intensity; to put an end to; nullify.(Synonym) Fall, Let up, Lessen.That's it. That's what you get. No pictures. No smileys. I used to love these lists as a teenager, but it's fair to say that most people hate them. Enjoy!

Just as expected

Good book

I bought the book to prepare for SSAT. I personally find the the vocabularies more helpful for middle level.
