The Sak Kendra Hobo Bag in Leather

I'm picky about purses--what woman isn't? They are either too big, too small. The straps too long, or too short. There are never enough pockets or there are so many you can't remember where you put anything. Buying a purse online is difficult. But you know that. I was looking for very specific things: -The Strap: I despise adjustable straps, so it had to be a set length but I'm tall (5'8") so that is a challenge in and of itself at times. This one is about an inch shorter than what I'd prefer, but it's workable and it stays on my shoulder. -Pockets: As I said before I've never owned a purse that gets this right--but this one comes close. I wish the pockets on the ends were a bit more functional--however, my Galaxy S4 does fit snugly enough in them that I'm not afraid it will fall out. The zippered pocket on the outside is just the right size for holding cards, license and the never ending loose change. There are two pockets that are sewn into the inside without zippers and one zippered pocket inside--all of them are about the perfect size. -The 'inners' in general: This is not a bottomless pit that many purses are now designed to be. How many times have you had to empty out your entire purse to find your keys? That wont happen with this purse. It's large enough to hold what I need it to hold without being so large that it allows me to keep EVERYTHING in it--which is good because I have a tendency to fill any purse to capacity! -Shape: This has a very clean look to it. It's not sloppy and doesn't turn into a puddle of fabric when it's set down. The boat like shape allows for lots of storage, but makes it easier to find things. Over all this may become my most favorite purse of all. I did remove 1 star for the strap length and while the inside isn't huge, I think I would have liked to have a divider that ran down the middle of the purse. But those are both things I can live with and get used to. The color was true to the picture, and the quality is definitely there. I had my doubts at first about the zipper but after a few weeks of using it everyday it's holding up great. --------- Update at 18 months I had to up my review by one star. You see, I recently received notification that LH had commented on my review (thanks!) and it made me curious. How long ago did I buy this purse? Over a year and a half. That's a long time for a purse--any purse--to hold up. I still LOVE IT. I'm not a 'girly girl'. I don't switch out my purse to match my shoes or my outfit. For me a purse is a functional accessory, not a decoration. So what does that mean? It means that I have used this purse EVERY DAY over the last 550 days or so and it still looks great! The two unzippered pockets inside haven't stretched out. The one zippered pocket on the inside hasn't developed a hole where all of my small items fall into the black hole between purse and liner. The outer pockets have held up as well. It still doesn't turn into a puddle when I set it down. It still holds everything I need, with room for more. The main zipper has never malfunctioned or skipped. When I first bought this purse, I was really skeptical. Mainly because of the price. Honestly, I've never spent that much on a purse before. This is a true case of getting your value worth! I can't say enough good things about this purchase. All in all I plan on using this until it falls apart. And at the rate this is going, that will be a long, LONG time from now.... ----In November of this year I will have had this purse for SIX years. It's showing it's age, it's a bit droopier now than it was--aren't we all? (HA!) and the seems are showing a bit of wear and tear. The liner is still intact, the zippers all work, the pockets haven't torn. I think I might die before this purse does!!!

REALLY - this is great quality and a wonderful purse!!! I hunted and hunted! I have a fabric purse that I love for the shape and size that is slightly deeper than this on - THIS is perfect - NOT so big that I lose my life in the bottom and not so small that I have to make decisions about what to take and what to leave behind! This is the perfect every day purse! It holds an amazing amount of stuff - it has a lighter color fabric lining. It has a couple of small slip in pockets on the inside and a rather generous interior zipped pocket that will hold a fairly large wallet. The interior slip pockets have a little bit of very weak elastic at the top - but one of them is perfect for credit cards or business cards. The other one is wide enough for my note3 but not at all deep enough so lipstick, tissues and breath mints. The main top zipper works great to keep it all safe and the exterior zipper pocket is wonderful for my Note3 - or costco card and keys or all of those! There are slip pockets on the outside on either end that actually will hold big water bottles! I do not do that often because I don't want to stretch the leather and the weight seems a bit odd - but you could! The leather is nice and soft and very high quality stitching and hardware! I bought the black because I wanted something that really could be dragged everywhere! I really want another one for a more summer look - but can not decide on the color!

I have waited forever for exactly the right black bag, and this Sak bag is it! I am only 5 feet tall and most "larger" bags overwhelm me, but this bag is perfect. I love the east/west design, and this bag gives me more than enough room to carry everything I need, and the strap length is perfect. Don't hesitate to give this bag a try! You won't be sorry. UPDATE: I purchased this purse in black back in March. In June I came back and ordered the slate and the indigo, and they are fabulous. The size is perfect, the pockets are perfect; and the colors are great. I also love the fact that it has a single shoulder strap.

This is by far my favorite purse. I bought one 5 years ago and used it every day. It held up very well for several years. I really like the two pockets on either end of the purse. I put my keys in one end and my phone in the other. There is also a zipper pocket on the back where I keep my change purse and my IDs. The inside pockets are perfect for lip balm and pocket size hand sanitizer, gift cards etc. I just feel way more organized with this purse. The leather quality is soft and supple,yet thick and durable. I bought a different purse when the zipper failed and I just hated it. Always digging through everything to find my keys etc. I tried to buy a “like new” used version of this purse but the zipper was already having issues. I returned it and continued using the purse I hated until I finally decided to buy another new one. The only reason I didn’t give it a five stars is the zipper. Though it seems heavy duty with my last one the lining from the inside would seem to get stuck in the zipper which finally caused it to fail. I am hopeful I won’t have the same experience with my new one!

Kendra hobo bag is one of best quality bags I have ever purchased. In 2021 it cost $57 (imagine) I still use today in 2026 almost daily, no rips inside fabric, only few worn spots in leather. Absolutely will buy again . The Sak is top quality!!!

I love the fact that there is no useless/frustrating middle divider in this purse that is forever in the way. It has enough inner side pockets and outside pockets, and it is perfect for carrying on my shoulder. It is 100% leather other than the lining which is tan, not blue like the picture shows. I like that the lining is light in color, thus making it easy to find what is inside the purse. The pockets on the outside just below the handle are perfect. I keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in one of them and some cough drops in the other. They are deep pockets and nothing falls out because of the little flap over them. You can't go wrong with this purse. It is CASUAL, not dressy though. I love it and will probably pick another color for summer-time casual use.

Great bag! It fits a lot for a medium bag, but stuff isn't easily lost as it's a wide bag. Multiple pockets inside and out are great! Zipperer works well, easy to work. Looks classy and cute while being functional. I haven't had issues with the strap slipping, but I do have other bags from this brand that slip off terribly, it made me hesitate to purchase the bag. However, this shoulder strap I have had no issues with as it's a bit more stiff than my other sak bags. The purse keeps it's shape, doesn't puddle, but it still has a soft feel to the pebbled leather. I think in time it will soften a lot with use, it's very beautiful. I purchased black, goes with everything nicely!

This is a beautiful purse! The leather is oh so soft, the length of the strap is just right, and I LOVE the 3 outside pockets - my keys fit nicely in one of the end pockets, and my iPhone fits well in the other end pocket. The zippered outside pocket is for my credit cards, drivers license, and cash. The inside is plenty roomy, and I can find everything that I'm looking for. I love the shape of this bag - a rectangular bag [east-west, rather than north-south where everything falls to the bottom] that looks really nice when I'm carrying it. I got it in black, but I may have to get it in another color as well. It's just gorgeous!

Highly recommend this purse, nice thick supple leather. Perfect size if you don't like large purses. Love all of the compartments & pockets. Bought this purse 3 times love it!

I ordered this purse for the second time. The leather is so plush. This purse is so roomy but not too big. I just love it. I hate changing my purses because I love this one so much.

It’s perfect with plenty of ‘drop’ on the shoulder strap! Two roomy outside pouches to fit my iPhone in either end plus a pocket with side sizzler both inside and outside!
