Does this lid does to have a way to stay on the jar? Did I receive all the parts? Is something missing

You do need the ring that screws down over the top to keep it in place as you see in the photo. Maybe they don’t send that piece? I must have already had one from the jar I attached it to. So you could buy a regular lid and it would come with it, but that is certainly frustrating!

Wanted to use this for sunflower seeds for salads. Will it seal tightly to keep them fresh on the counter?

There is a gasket seal for the edge and the metal lid fits very close together, but it's not 100% airtight. That said, I'd feel comfortable using it in this manner, and I think if you're using sunflower seeds on a regular basis so they aren't sitting for months, you should be fine.

Will the spice jar lid fit a 12 oz mason jar?

Mason jars come in regular mail and wide mouth. It could be many choices of ounces. So as long as yours is a regular mouth jar this little fit it. Does not fit widemouth
