Wow! This makes sewing knit hems a breeze.
Iโve been sewing for decades and Iโve always hated hemming any knit garment because the hems never looked smooth or professional. I read about this stretch heatnBond product and wanted to give it a try. I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised but how GREAT it works. You just iron the tape to the bottom inside of the hem area, then remove the paper backing layer, fold up the hem (with the HeatnBond applied) and press again. Voila! Your hem is perfectly flat, with an even hem height around the entire garment, and then the hem can be sewn up beautifully. There is no residue left on the sewing needle and it produces a flat, professional-looking hem in no time. On narrower hems Iโve cut the product in half lengthwise and it worked just as well as the full 5/8โ width. Now that Iโve found this product, Iโm actually looking forward to making more knit garments because I know my hems will look perfect without the waviness and stretched-out look. Where has this product been all this time?! If you do much sewing, youโll LOVE this product! I highly recommend it.

Wish I knew earlier!
HeatnBond Stretch was recommended in a pattern using 4way stretch fabric. Wow! It stabilized the hem and made sewing a breeze!

works very well
I recently had to double needle hem 18 knit shirts for a customer, some cotton knit and some synthetic knit , This product was a lifesaver to get the shirts done in an orderly fashion , You have to be cautious with a synthetic fabric with the heat ( use a press cloth ) but it was worth the extra effort to get beautiful hems without rolling and without any unevenness . The adhesive did not show on the surface, the needle did not gum up, and it made my life much easier, Would certainly recommend !

Good for cotton fabric
People should be aware that it requires a high iron temperature to bond properly so canโt be used on synthetic or delicate fabric. I wanted to use it with a heavy spandex and it didnโt work. But I think it will be fine for quilting and applique projects with midweight cotton fabric.

Much easier to use on knit hems than fusible web!
Recommended by a sewist YouTuber that I follow! I bought this to stabilize knit hems before sewing. I generally use strips of knit interfacing, but this was much easier since the first pressing is on the paper side. My first use was not on a hem, though! I had a too-snug at the hips fleece sweatshirt that I cut down the middle front and turned into a cardigan. I used this heat and bond as instructed on the raw edges (tape side up, no steam, 10 seconds, let cool; peel off the paper, turn under and use steam for 20 seconds) then topstitched.

Perfect for Lace Hems!!!
Iโm drafting my wedding dress in pink and I needed to find a way to hem a v-neck and gauntlet sleeves in lace. I found this stuff and it works BEAUTIFULLY! I tested it on some scrap fabric (1st pic) to make sure I didnโt melt the synthetic fabric. Sure enough the fabric is fine and the interfacing holds! The adhesion seems to give up after some stretching, but I only needed it to hold together for stitching. When I do it in ivory, my wedding dress is going to look stunning thanks to this stuff!

Pretty good for soft clothing
I sometimes double the amount I use when using this for soft shirts. Stays together well after the first wash. Make sure to iron a few times to make sure adhesion is strong.

Sanity Saver
This product was my sanity saver while attaching mesh inserts to lycra for rhythmic gymnastic leotards. It kept the pieces in place far better than pins for sewing them together. The stretch factor of this product was important for my use.

Does the job on stretchy material
Perfect! I have Sloggi brackets bras but the seam always comes apart - this fixed it!

Works better than expected
They work quite good, I use them at sticking the lining of underwear when it looses it's fabric glue. I am surprized that so far it rezisted after quite a few washed, very good results for the price

This is a very valuable notion that I use when sewing hems on knitted fabric.
