Can a spin reel be mounted on the bottom side of either rod? Or is that only applicable for the spinning rod?

In theory to work at all properly and functionally, a spinning reel should only be mounted on the underside of a spinning rod. And a casting reel should only be mounted on the top of the casting rod. They way the line is fed out of each reel makes it super difficult to function on rods that the reel isn't intended for.

This rod can be use in saltwater?

This is a Freshwater rod and does not have any Saltwater protection

there are no inserts in guides, is that how it’s supposed to be? is braided line safe through those guides, not gonna rip?
