Q: Will it wrap arround the side? My washer has white on the edges also

No, it doesn't wrap around the sides. My sides are white too. This is a very quick fix. We bought a new black fridge and had a black oven. So, it was a quick kitchen transformation to get the dishwasher black. But it's no where near a permanent fix. The top of my dishwasher, (where the buttons are) is white too. I have contemplated buying another large cover and cutting narrow strips to make the sides black too. I thought about taking the door apart and painting the metal pieces black.........but, I haven't done either yet. So, looking straignt on......looks ok. But from the sides.......eh, not so much.

Q: is this a high gloss or a matte black?

It is a high gloss. I love it! It stays on and looks like my dishwasher was black from the manufacturer. I did spray paint the top part (where the buttons are)because I wanted it to match. I used a good quality paint especially for plastic. It does not look as good as the magnet but it does not stick out as badly.

Q: Can it be trimmed to fit?

I did not alter the cover, but it certainly seems pliable enough to trim with shears, in my opinion.
