Household EssentialsWicker Open Storage Bin for Shelves, Natural

After reading the other product reviews, we ordered two of the same baskets hoping to get the reddish ones like in the product photos. As you can see from my pictures one basket was great while the other was not. One basket was a dark brown (no red at all) and had a really bad finish on it. I returned that one and ordered another trying to get two of the same baskets. We got lucky and the next one was reddish also. They are nice, I just wish their product was more consistent for everyone trying to get the correct color.

I ordered these bins to fit in some cubbies in a bookshelf I already own. I was hoping they would match some similar ones that I had bought at another popular store, but which had since been discontinued. I was psyched that another reviewer said the actual width of the bins was more like 12.5", not 13", because that was the width of the first non-Amazon bins I bought and I knew they would fit. My cubbies are 13 3/16" and I figured they might be tight, but should fit regardless. Turns out the actual width of the ones I received exceeded even 13 3/16! They were more like 13.5" wide. Also, the color of the stain is MUCH darker than what is pictured. The color is closer to black coffee or coca-cola, and didn't have the variated coloring that the picture shows -- all uniform in color. I didn't notice any flaking as some other reviewers have mentioned, but the varnish does give off a very unpleasant odor. Honestly, I think you could leave these outside for a few hours in the breeze and the problem would go away, but I'm returning these as they don't even fit what I need. To their credit, I love that they can pack flat and they do seem very sturdily made. They are also comparatively priced to other options. I'd keep them if it weren't for the size.

The size was perfect for where I needed these but the brown comes of really easily. I don’t know if they are painted or what but whatever it is it makes a mess and leaves spots that are the natural color

My wife and I keep our house Japanese style--meaning no shoes in the house. But American houses are really designed for that with specific entryways and shoe-closets. So we needed something that looked nice and could hold shoes.As an affordable solution, we picked these "Household Essentials Woven-Banana-Leaf Collapsible Storage Bins" to fit inside the  Prepac Manhattan Espresso Cubbie Bench . They bins fit perfectly into the Cubbie Bench, and match in color almost as if they were designed for each other.The baskets are nice and solid, and easy to put together. They don't require any special tools or anything. The brown is quite a dark brown, which is exactly what we were looking for.I am sure you could use these to store pretty much anything. We use them for shoes, and they work great for that!

This storage bin does not resemble the product photo. It is a really ugly dark brown, almost black color. There is no 'natural looking' variation or gradation to the coloring as the photo would have you believe. It says 'natural fiber', whatever that means, because it looks like badly spray painted plastic. You pick it up and it just feels plastic and heavy, not like a 'natural' basket or bin at all. Whatever the material is, the weave is not tight and uniform like shown in the photo; there are gaps in the weave and places where the material just sticks off the basket, as if the weaving has come loose.We are using this in our master bedroom to hold medical supplies on a shelf, so it works for that purpose, but it certainly isn't as nice looking as I had hoped. If I had purchased this for use in a living space, it would have been going back, immediately. I had considered purchasing a set of three of these for use in our living room, but I will not be purchasing more of these.I have seen nicer baskets for the same amount of money at department stores.

The product looked exactly as shown. Other purchasers complained of a smell but mine was fine. It was too small for the purpose I had purchased it - but that was my fault. The bin folds flat and that is a nice feature. Sometimes during "spring cleaning" I clean out a bin and don't know what to do with it (I live in an apartment) because I have little storage place. This item can easily be "hidden" under a bed, behind a piece of furniture, in a closet, etc. without taking up much space.

I purchased these for my new vehicle, for the trunk. My intention is to use them for holding groceries or nursery plants on the way home so they don't topple over and make a mess. So far, perfect! The material actually works great on the fabric liner of my trunk and never slide. I wouldn't recommend them for heavy use, however. Mine are treated very gently and there is a bit of unravel on the corners.

Very sturdy and easy to put together. Great quality and highly recommend! I love water hyacinth buns and have several, would definitely purchase again!!!

I got two of these baskets. I've had them now for 2 weeks and they're already falling apart. Don't waste your money. I wish I could return them!
