My original review: Waste of money for me. Continually disconnects during use. Sound is ok. Hate that it doesn't work like I had hoped, but having to constantly reconnect it is just to much of a bother.UPDATE: I was contacted by Avantree almost immediately about my review. Please note that they reached out to me, I didn't contact them. They offered to exchange the unit or take it back. They also suggested I try a reset using the instructions on the provided link. We did the reset this morning and now this unit works beautifully. We've had it on in the house for several hours listening to music and making phone calls. It has stayed connected without any problems at all. Avantree has excellent customer service. Their emails to me were friendly and helpful. I will be doing business with this compay in the future.

I bought the 10BS but was disappointed by the sound quality, and also that it seems to lack a voice-activated answering capability.Since I never requested a replacement unit I do not know whether the sound quality issue I experienced is a general problem with this model, or whether I just got a defective one. Maybe it was just my unit, since other reviewers rated it higher.In response to the problems I posted here Avantree sent me a free CK11 model, which I guess is the newer version. It is slightly larger than the 10BS, works well, and I like it. But I am unable to post a review since I did not order it through Amazon.So I will say here that based on my individual experience I would get the CK11 rather than the 10BS. I definitely give the CK11 4 stars. Reliable auto-on function; an actual volume control knob, which doubles as a multi-function button; decent sound quality for phone calls. It does not auto-answer, but it does announce the incoming caller's name (based on your contact list); reaching up to press the large button to answer can easily be done without taking your eyes off the road. And a button press connects you to your phone's voice command for calling out. And it has a removable/replaceable battery, which I just like on general principles.

I really like that I can command my Android phone with the push of one button. I don't even need to say, "Okay, Google." I can make calls, send texts, get directions. I don't know if it can read texts as I don't mess with that while I'm driving, but I can dictate a quick text to tell someone I'm running late. It's easier to use than the installed stereo it replaces. I bought a different device that I had to return because it was made to use your stereo to broadcast your calls.My kids like to watch brainpop while I'm driving. They usually Bluetooth for sound. I wish it was a bit louder for that purpose, but that's really not what it was designed for.I can't attest to the battery life as I just keep it plugged in to the car charger all the time.It does have one quirk, it has a long range for its Bluetooth. If I forget to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone, I can't hear anything on my phone and sometimes even in stores until I turn off the Bluetooth.The speaker quality is good for its purpose. If you want Bose speaker quality I'd recommend buying Bose speakers (does Bose even make car speakers? They're what I have in my home.) However for simple conversation and listening to audiobooks it's fine. No distortion or static.This is one time I really feel I got my money's worth.

Works well when using solo. When my wife was texting on her phone each letter made a clicking noise. So what annoying. Still learning ins and outs

I saw this visor speaker on their website and knew I just had to try it. Right out of the box, it impressed me. Easy to operate and has great sound. I specifically bought it to play audio books in my car so it needed to offer a clear, crisp sound and good volume. This met all of my needs very well. Now I don't have to drive around with earbuds! I will recommend this small but powerful bluetooth speaker to others.

Honestly I like this little speaker but 2 major issues are making me look for something else. Number one, I drive a truck and with this thing 14 inches from my head I have to really struggle to hear people. The quality is fine it's the lack of volume that is the killer... And on to the most annoying feature.. If you turn off your Bluetooth on your phone so you can hear the person you are talking to the thing keeps beeping every 15 seconds at you to say it's on but not connected to anything. This is really the only thing that is loud on the unit and u can't figure out any way to shut it up other than to pull the battery... Bigger speaker and an easy to use off button would make this thing perfect...

Update: Avantree sent me a replacement which turns on and off. Big improvement. Great customer service so if you are on the fence give it a try. They will make it right if you aren't happy.Original post: Sound quality is not that great. It also has an annoying beep if it is not connected to a bluetooth device. Easy to connect to. It knows when you are nearby and it has a long reach. I was in the house once and when I answered the cell phone I found it was still connected to this speaker in the car.

I received the unit with a dead battery - not a big deal because it also happens with other portable items, which would not charge. I contacted the seller - Avantree, by email and they immediately, no hassle and friendly, send me another unit, which worked perfectly. We have a 'hands free' law, meaning no handling of a phone in a car and this unit works perfectly with the phone on Bluetooth. The unit's speaker is very good, the mic. is perfectly sensitive. The unit was a breeze to setup. If someone needs hands free talking in the car, I highly recommend it.Thank you Avantree for your friendly no hassle service and for a surprisingly great unit.Gerry

This was my first review. Mea Culpa. I got it wrong, so my new and improved review follows this..."The thing is very difficult to get working in my car. It answers the incoming call fine, but outgoing calls just won’t connect. It says “Having difficulty connecting, please try again later”If I try it in the house it works fine, if I put it in the car it won’t work. Even if the car is stationary or moving.So it’s great for receiving calls but won’t send them."When at first I thought there was something wrong because once in the car, it would not connect I was a bit curious. It worked in the house, but not in the car. Very strange. Then I remembered that on the iPhone, the Bluetooth transmission and control of other similar devices like Music players won't work unless WiFi is also available. I think it's an iPhone thing maybe? Anyway, I enabled Mobile Data along with the Bluetooth, and Presto Bumpo, it worked. Of course, I had used up my phone data allowance so had to wait a week. Meantime I'd been in touch with Support who were very helpful and also determined to track down the "Unable to connect, please try again later" message.Paid for more data on my phone plan and as I said, it now works perfectly. My wife who uses the car to get to and from work can now stay in touch and everyone is happy. As it's a Christmas present for her, I'm also happy. Very.The gadget is small, light easily fits on the sun visor, but could be mounted anywhere convenient really and super easy to use. Push the button, wait for the phone to respond, usually about a second and it even interrupts the music while in use. Really useful device. Doesn't require you to take your eyes off the road even for a second. The Call Button is large and easy to feel. Love it.

Honnêtement je ne m'attendais pas à une telle qualité pour ce prix, l'autonomie, la voix, le son. Tout ce qui est annonçé est réel et pourtant je l'utilise le plus souvent dans une dacia Mcv première génération, véhicule qui est, il faut bien le reconnaître, très mal insonorisé. Ce Kit fonctionne impeccablement et la puissance sonore suffit à rendre clairement toute discussion. Je l'utilise avec un Sony xpéria et un Samsung S8.enfiin un gros plus pour le vendeur, fabriquant, qui envoie un mail suite à l'achat pour envoyer en plus de la notice livrée, sur une vidéo explicative. Belle attention.S'il fallait un défaut ce serait la longueur du cable qui ne permet pas le branchement sur l'allume cigare tout en étant accroché au pare soleil, mais comme je ne suis jamais tombé à cours de batterie en le rechargeant tous les deux ou trois jours, le problème ne se pose pas.Un produit que je recommande vu son prix très abordable en plus du reste.
