High quality underpad with microbial qualities...
I was first introduced to underpads when caring for my grandfather over 20 years ago. He was battling bone cancer and was not able to be weight bearing. I was taught to use underpads to help reposition him in bed, to roll him from side to side and move him up in the bed. We also used them under Grandpa when I used transfer boards, the Hoyer Lift or on any surface to which we were transferring him...mostly for positioning purposes, although, as his bone cancer progressed, we also needed them for incontinence. I soon began to realize how amazing underpads are in general, and began appreciating them for other uses, too!A wise friend had suggested that I put 3 sets of sheets on the baby mattress in our crib, so middle of the night bedding changes were just comprised of removing a sheet and the underpad...VOILA...clean sheet ready to go! This proved invaluable wisdom for all of our children.Later, as a mom of a special needs child (and we are in the process of adopting another), I found that I needed a large surface on which to change bigger kids and an underpad provides a waterproof, somewhat soft surface on which to lay the child for clean up.I have use a wide variety of underpads in these many years and these Medline SilverTouch Antimicrobial underpads are the best of the bunch so far! There are 4 main characteristics that I look for in underpads:1) Size2) Waterproof3) Durability for frequent washing4) Odor NeutralizingThese Medline underpads are 32" x 36," which is just a smidge smaller than most of our underpads, which are 34 x 36. They are wonderfully waterproof, which is one of the most important factors for us. Sometimes we have an underpad that starts out waterproof, but after a few washes becomes a leaky mess. In the old days, we would layer some disposable pads on top of the reusable one, just to make the process easier. But we have become more environmentally conscious and, in our effort to be good stewards of our planet's resources, we prefer to just use the washable pads. These Medline pads have appeared to be plenty durable, given all the washing they have already received and the fact that they are holding up! I definitely feel as though these pads help with neutralizing odors, too. When our little pottytraining one had a couple of nignttime accidents, I was very impressed with the minimal odor accompanying it.This medline underpad has been very impressive for the first month of use! I will update if we have quality issues

He loved these pads & reported that they stayed put
I ordered these for my mother before she passed away & had them shipped to my parents' house. Dad had tried several other brands of re-usable pads & disposable pads. The others didn't stay in place, they bunched or folded up or rotated if she moved or got out of bed. He was sick of laundering & changing bedding so frequently. He loved these pads & reported that they stayed put, they didn't bunch or fold up or move underneath her when she moved & contained all of the liquid without leaking or soaking through. They also seemed to keep odor at bay. He laundered them in an agitator washing machine & they held up great for the two years he used them & they returned to flat for re-use (the corners didn't curl up). He only had to launder them once after use, they cleaned well & didn't retain any odor. He also kept one on her lazy boy lift recliner chair. Dad was very grateful & thanked me over & over whenever we talked over the phone. Sure wish I had these when my daughter wet the bed at night as a child.

Every new parent should have these!!
I'm writing this review at 1:45 AM after dealing with a toddler who has a stomach bug. These pads saved us yet again tonight, when, instead of having to completely strip the crib after our son got sick, instead we just pulled out the pad and replaced it with a clean one. Our son is only 14 months old, but in that time we've gotten so much use out of these pads that I would have happily paid at least double the price.I always forget to add these to lists of "what's absolutely necessary for babies" but I can't tell you just how many messes these things have saved us from. Our son sleeps on these (on top of his sheet) and they've caught so much puke and diaper blowouts. I used to use them in the rock 'n play and for naked baby time and tummy time when he was younger, we use them on his changing table, and I even used them in my own bed postpartum when I had horrible night sweats.Seriously, they're pricey, but you won't regret it at all. And they're durable enough to last for years, so you'll definitely get your money's worth!!

they are washable and work very well
Works very well for my cats. They don't pee on it very much. I put them where they usually pee. The pee doesn't soak through.

Good protection from wet on bed or sofa/chairs
This is longer lasting, more absorbent washable pad for accidents due to old age incontinence or injury/illness/surgery leakage issues. Washes very well but after many scrubbing it does start to have surface pilling/fraying...but still better than others we've tried.
