Magic Chef MCSFS12ST 3 Tier Food Steamer, 9.4X 15.4 X16.1, Stainless Steel

After over 10 years my old steamer baskets started to break so I needed a new one. This one seemed to do everything with 3 stackable baskets and a rice basket as well..The good - its attractive, it cooks, has 3 baskets and a rice basket.The bad - no way to manually set timer only pre-sets which is mind boggling. The book has all the charts for different times but in order to steam properly you would have to set it to a higher time and use a separate timer. The baskets are all different sizes so you have to use them in a certain order. My old one had all the same so if one broke it wouldn't have been an issue. The steamer starts to fast and hot which would normally be good but boiling eggs causes 20% cracking rate which my old steamer never cracked eggs.In general it is really hard to find a steamer that was so well designed with all the bells and whistles as my older one but simple things like being able to set your own time are just completely absurd. It is a good steamer but with the cracking eggs, no manual timer, and different size baskets I definately would have kept looking around

My old steam cooker had finally just gave out and was looking for and affordable replacement. I decided to give this one a shot and I was so glad that I did. It’s big enough to cook enough food for couple of days worth of meals which helps me so much when trying to adhere to a diabetic/cardiac diet. Love the digital timer but figured out the first time after the timer goes off make sure to push the off button or it will continue to kick on to keep your meal warm even if the water has steamed out. No damage done but just thought I would make mention of that issue. Over all I love this product and highly recommend it to anyone.

There is nothing I dislike about this product. I am so happy I bought it. I a am able to press a button that sets the exact time the food will be cook according to what i am steaming. It also comes with both directions and a list of foods that can be steamed and the time it takes to steam them. It comes with three tiers and rice steamer. the first day I got it I cooked both zucchini and rice and oh my! I would advise every shopper who wants to invest in a steamer by this one. Its affordable to!!

Having destroyed 2 pots and 2 vegetable steamers because I turned them on, walked away and forgot about them, this little treasure is well worth the money! Especially for the widowed or single person! I put a tuna steak, sliced sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts together in the first level and in 25 minutes , dinner was ready....no burned pots...no pots to clean . Whatever took me so long to discover this time and effort saver????

1. The trays have BIG holes in the bottom, so if you try to steam small things like frozen corn or frozen peas, much will fell through to the level below or to the part that catches the water.2. Thus, it is also very hard to scoop out leftovers. If you try to scoop them with a serving spoon, you will lose many small veggies that you did not already lose when you poured the frozen veggies into the trays to cook. And you can't just tilt the trays to pour the leftovers into a container because the bottom parts of each tray are separate from the sides. They just rest in there. So if you turn them to pour leftovers in a container, the bottom of the trays just fall out.All the small vegetables we lost each time was waste of money.And all the extra time it takes to try to get leftovers out and into a container was a waste of time.

All our vegetables taste so good in this steamer. We love this and the red potatoes and organic carrots we will be have on St Patrick’s Day will be great. Yummy 👍

Bought this to replace a steamer I loved that broke... this one shocked me by being so much better! It's quiet while heating. The hole in the middle of the racks helps steam cook evenly. They stack easily and stack reversed order for easy storing! I highly recommend!

The product seems to be fine. However, I have not used it many times. I like the design, the look but the bottom of the tiers are removable so I did not like to wash it and putting it together. Also the baskets are made from hard plastic so I felt they can break easily.

Initially, the steamer looked fine when it first arrived but on closer inspection the food baskets have holes that are too large for things like shelled peas or kernei corn. The picture on the Amazon site shows a full cob of corn and peas in the shells which is deceiving. So, I notified Amazon who did send me the return label, etc.I immediately rewrapped the steamer and returned it.

Received it just before Christmas and used it Christmas Day, it worked like a charm! All the vegetables were cooked exactly how they were supposed to! I loved it! As a matter of fact my company all wanted to know where I got it from, I was really delighted with it!

Ease of use , worked perfect for a large dinner with plenty of veg with the 3 tiers
