Are these real sunglasses with UV protection, or just a costume prop?

They're real sunglasses, not a prop. The lenses are UV400 HD and block 99% of UVA/UVB rays, so you can absolutely wear them as everyday shades. The steampunk styling just happens to make them a killer costume piece too.

How dark is the red lens? Can you actually see through them — like, could I drive with these?

Red lens is a medium-dark tint — great in bright sun, fine for daytime wear and photos. Note:Everything looks reddish and greens get muted, so avoid night driving or reading traffic lights.Be careful when driving

Do the lens colors look the same in person as in the photos?

Close, but expect some shift — mirrored lenses reflect whatever is in front of them, so they read differently indoors vs. in direct sun, and every screen shows color a bit differently. If you want the truest color perception, go Black/Grey.

Are they heavy? Can I wear them all day at a festival or convention?

The frame is lightweight metal with thin temples, so most people forget they're on — buyers report wearing them a full evening at Halloween parties, Renaissance faires, raves and costume events without pinching or slipping.

I have a wider face / bigger head — will these fit me?

The round frames run slightly narrow, so they're a snug fit on wider faces. The good news: the metal frame is gently adjustable-you can carefully bend the arms for a custom fit. Most customers say once adjusted, they're comfortable for all-day wear.
