It works, but not great.
I got this unit for my wife, and initially she loved it. It is easy and convenient to use. However after further use (2 months), we are not quite as happy with it. This is a very limited vacuum cleaner, in that it lacks great suction. I have checked the filter and tubing to check for obstructions, but have found none. It will pick up a Cheerios piece, but not any little pieces of dirt that get tracked in under the tread of our shoes. I'm just not very impressed with this unit, and will likely go to find something else that does a better job.

Good balanced cordless vac
I have had the vacuum for a few days, but have used it every day since receiving it. I shopped around a bit and tried a few different cordless vacs before ultimately taking a gamble and purchasing this model (I hadn't tested it but was drawn in by other reviews and the price). My gamble has so far paid off well. The pros:1. This unit has pretty decent suction. Although I have not seen the spec sheets, I would rate it better than the Dyson V6 cordless. I have not had any problems with this thing in the suction category2. The included motor head does a very good job of cleaning the carpet, and if the brush is engaged while vacuuming hard floors, it does not throw dirt everywhere.3. The little light on the motor head is fun, but it actually helps pick out dirt and particles quite a bit when cleaning gray or brown flooring.4. It includes a number of tools including the motor head, the crevace tool with brush, and what appears to be a small dusting tool.5. Does not need to be placed on a docking station to recharge.6. Push button operation, so you don't have to constantly hold a trigger. It's nice to be able to move your hand around without worrying about shutting off the unit. The cons.1. The weight distribution on this unit is not as well balanced as other models. It doesn't make any difference when using this vacuum to clean floors, but cleaning ceiling fans or sucking up cobwebs can be tiresome2. To charge you have to physically plug the unit in. Although it does come with a mounting bracket for wall mounting, the mount does not automatically charge the vaccuum.3. If you want to turn off the motor head, you have to turn off the vacuum and then turn it back on. It would be nice to have a way to turn the motor head on and off without having to cycle through the start stop process, this puts unneccesary wear and tear on the battery. All in all I am happy with this little vac. It comes in at half the price of the leading competitor yet it does all the work and comes with attachements to boot.I saw in other reviews that you need to empty it frequently and I second that. However I will add that it is extremely easy to dissasemble the unit, and by puching one button and twisting then the dust bin comes off and everything falls out into the trash (provided you do this over the trash can) and then twists right back on. The whole emptying process in this manner takes less than 10 seconds and you won't have to put your finger into the dust bun and get all dirty.

EXCELLENT!!!!
Update: 3/28/17No longer on the fence...I LOVE this vacuum. It is a workhorse in my house and honestly is the easiest vacuum I have ever used.No longer use my corded Shark vacuum(s) at all, this baby gets it all.Last night I vacuumed in the dark, no lights on and was amazed at how much stuff the "pencil" light picked up...a whole new vacuuming experience!Cleaning out the dust bin is still a hassle IF you let it get completely full before emptying, but all these are like that...you do have to swipe your finger around the middle to get the dog and cat hair to come free, but even then, it's no big deal. I've found cleaning it out more often is best to avoid that issue. I do the upstairs and then dump it out in the kitchen garbage, then do the stairs and downstairs and then dump in the downstairs garbage. If I do this, I find I don't have to swipe the canister, everything falls out into the garbage with a few light taps...Easy peasy. Most importantly it does my whole 2500sq ft. house on one charge...sucks alongside baseboards, goes from hardwood to carpet of various piles, does the stairs perfectly, (the head is JUST the right size for the stair treads,) and gets it all...you name it.LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little guy!Still on the fence on this puppy...mostly I really like it and it has become my "go to" vac.I bought this primarily to use it in my walk-in closet where the cat box lives (I HATE picking up the litter on my feet when I'm barefoot!) and this does a pretty good job on that, not so great at picking up the litter from the litter mat, but haven't had a vacuum that does a great job on that cordless or otherwise, so it's kinda of not the vacuums fault, and it's GREAT to be able to do a quick sweep of the litter that inevitably ends up on the floor, and in my bedroom, without dragging out my corded Shark vac...does as good of a job and is RIGHT there waiting to go, with just the right amount of attachments, (crevice tool, etc.)Does a pretty good job moving from the closet into my bedroom, and even the rest of the house, (with mostly hardwood floors and area rugs,) on a single charge, and that's a lot of rooms! Have had some issues with strings wrapping around the roller brush, but the roller brush pops out easily and has not been that hard to clean at all.Like all these type vacuums the "head heavy," construction does get HEAVY, but I just switch hands and that works pretty well. The charge last long enough to do almost my whole house, and is WONDERFUL on our hardwood stairs, (just the right size!) but the canister does fill up pretty fast and needs to be emptied at least once...I've found cleaning it more often is easier than waiting for it to be completely filled so you don't have to paw around in the center piece to unclog the dog and cat hair and dust...again, very similar issue with all these type vacuums. It does have a light, which is semi helpful, but rather puny....first it's small, like a pencil light, and it's mounted to the side on the roller head, rather than in the front, so it gives little true illumination, (actually even better would be one large bar light, or several small lights across the front,) so it's sometimes hard to tell if it is really picking up whatever your aiming at. Additionally, the plastic cover gets obscured pretty quickly with dust and becomes rather opaque...as a result, I frequently can't tell if the roller brush is actually turning. I often find myself turning it over and holding it up to just to see if it is spinning. It always is, but weird that you just can't tell if it is or isn't by just looking down and through the plastic cover. However, that aside, it does a phenomenal job at picking up pretty much everything, and unlike any other vacuum, cordless or otherwise, the roller head is extremely easy to clean. Haven't had to get out the scissors or tweezers even once. That's a HUGE plus.Overall, this is a pretty good vac, in fact almost perfect, and certainly better than any other cordless vacuum I have tried, and believe me I have tried them all!

A vacuum at this price should be able to handle pet hair
Nice for picking up debris from hard floors. On low pile and smooth carpet could be better. It picks up loose stuff fine but it takes several passes to get dog hair on my entry way rug. Even with several passes I may not get all the hair, so the suction must not be powerful enough to overcome the static cling that holds the hair to the rug. Will help me tidy up in a pinch, but wish it had a little more oomph.Updated review: I have had this for a couple months now and it has been a huge disappointment. The metal shaft that links the floor piece with the canister is now clogged with dog hair and debris the whole way up, and it won't pick up dirt and loose material off the floor - instead a bunch is spit back out when I turn off the machine. I am going to try to return it, if not that is over 150 bucks lost to a product that doesn't work the way it should.

Good charge, very low suction, awkward design.
The only good thing about this vacuum is the head. It has good maneuverability and the brushes work quit nice throwing the dirt up in the air to allow the unit to suck it up. If not for that, I don't think it would suck anything off a hard surface floor.I had a spider in the track of a patio door and tried to use just the wand with no attachment to suck it up and it would not do it.Taking attachments and the wand apart are really awkward and is a battle every time. You are required to hold the buttom on the piece you are removing it from as opposed to the button button being on the piece you want to remove. The reason for this is simple ergonomics, your hand just does not want to grip and pull in this position. This vacuum also is deceitfully named Severin HV7158 Germany. But it is not made in Germany, cheap garbage from China. Save your money buy something that will work
