Had it for years
Had it for years without any issues. Many spills nothing went through. Got a new cat recently and she peed on my bed. I was very thankful I had this protector. My only issue is that the pockets aren't very deep for my 18 inch mattress. And it's very annoying to clean, the water just wants to stay on it.

Very Nice for the Price
So far we are very happy with this mattress protector. All-in-all, for the price, I think it is an excellent one, and certainly worth it. Why pay $80-$150 for a mattress protector in hopes it will last a very long time when you can pay $20 and even if it only lasts a year. you have gotten your money's worth. I do hope it lasts longer than that but even if it does not it will not be a budget breaker to replace. I guess we will see how sturdy it is over time. I will try and remember to update. The top padding is thicker than we expected and quite comfortable. It does seem to have a lot of breathability. In fact, since it is still winter-chilly out, the bed feels almost overly cool on first getting in but it warms up to comfortable quickly and has not felt any hotter than my previous non-waterproof mattress pad. In fact I have stayed a quite comfortable temperature during the night, only becoming overheated when I have had the addition of a kitty warmer lying on me. We have not tested the reliability of the waterproofing, having yet had no spills or pet accidents, but it appears to have a suitably waterproof coating underneath. The waterproof under-coating is not stiff but instead a bit stretchy and makes no noise. Since the backing is a bit stretchy, or in addition to it, the top padding has some give with our movement on the bed. This is nice as I hope that when we get our new mattress in a few weeks it will allow for a lot of pressure point adjustment. The new mattress coming is one of the reasons for this purchase as I wanted to protect it from spills, pet accidents, and any other stains for warranty purposes. Before we had non-waterproof protectors and after going through kids, an elderly cat, etc., the 20 year old mattress we have now really shows it. 20 years is old for a mattress and you would expect some wear and tear but we would like to try and keep the new one like new as long as possible. The pockets are plenty deep for our current mattress which is quite thick. It fits easily over the corners and the continuous elastic around the bottom seems strong enough to last for a bit. It also makes it easy to get all the sides tucked smoothly under the mattress. In the week since we have had it on the bed, it has not slipped off the corners or moved around.

So far, so good
With a frequent bed wetter in the family, having a waterproof mattress pad is a must. I read tons of reviews on multiple pads, and finally settled on this one. Reviews do sell items, and it's amazing how different one person's experience can be, to the next.Right off, I noticed the smell of the pad was quite neutral. Reviews indicated it smelled quite strongly, though as someone very sensitive to smells, I thought it was rather free of smell. I expected to have to air it out before putting it on the bed; however, it went straight on.It is a bit noisy, but why would it not be? You can't have a moisture barrier for a bed that's completely silent. Again, not a bother to me. And once on the bed, the pillow top muffled the sound very well.As I'm in dire need of this thing to *work*, the first thing I did was pour a cup of water on the corner of the pad. Well, it worked, though maybe a bit too well! The water followed the curve of the mattress and poured straight onto the floor. What of the water did soak through didn't come through the other side of the pad--as you can see in my photos. My verdict on the mattress pad is that, out of the packaging, it works like a champ. However, if you're dealing with a large volume of liquid on the bed, particularly one that a person will be lying in, the liquid is going to collect there. It has to go somewhere, so it's eventually either going to run off the bed elsewhere, or if left for a few hours, it will seep through. You will still need a contingency plan for how to deal with that eventuality. This mattress pad is worth the investment.

Great cover overall! No noise
I bought this cover for the Nest mattress that I just bought. I wanted something similar to the mattress, but also wanted to keep it protected at the same time. This cover is very soft to the touch and almost feels like the same material as the mattress. There is zero noise when you lay on it and move around. My only slight complaint is that I've woken up a few times hot, but once I changed positions it was fine. It's hard to explain, like the only part of me that was hot was the skin that was touching the mattress side. My husband hasn't had the issue at all though. He's had no complaints and really likes it. A huge plus it that it is waterproof. I spilled a drink on my bed the other day and all the blankets, sheets and cover got wet. The liquid didn't not seep through to the mattress bc the cover did protect it. I would recommend this product.

It saved my mattress and I can't even tell it's on the bed!
I've been looking for a mattress cover that doesn't change the way my mattress feels, is soft and stretchy, and doesn't sleep hot, and this one fits the bill. My cat is getting up there in years, and I worried that she might become incontinent and ruin my new mattress, so after searching on Amazon for a while, I decided to give this one a try. I usually launder linen items prior to use, but decided to just put this on the bed for insurance, and wash it later. Good thing, because not long after, my cat got trapped in the bedroom overnight, and ended up wetting the bed. I was so relieved to see that the moisture didn't soak through the pad!The pad washed well, didn't shrink at all, and went right back on the bed. I was so impressed that I ordered another one for the guest bed!For those of you who said that moisture soaked through the pad, I believe the manufacturer states not to use fabric softener on it. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and the price can't be beat!
