DMC Charles Craft Gold Standard Aida 14 Count 15"X18" Box, Black

Beautiful black cloth for cross stitching. The only problem is that it’s really hard to see the holes when you’re stitching, but I think that’s a function of my bad eyes rather than the fabric. I had a pattern that needed black cloth, but in the future I’ll probably stay away from it just because it’s so much harder to use. I’m slowly working on the design and about halfway done.

Good quality aida cloth for cross stitch. Nice and stiff, evenly woven. My favorite aida cloth.

I’ve been stitching for nearly 40 years so it wasn’t a surprise at all that the fabric was initially stiff. I stitch in hand and once the fabric warms and is worked a few times the stiffness goes away. High quality fabric was easy to work with. My first time stitching on black, my project looks great!

This worked great for a small cross-stitch that I'm working on. although there was a slightly unpleasant odor to it. They're now manufacturing cross-stitch fabric with a stiffener on it to make it easier to stitch. The last one that I bought at Walmart, which was the same brand, had to be thrown in the garbage even after washing it because it smelled so bad.

This worked GREAT for my project. Although it's not black black. I'd consider it more off-black? I ended up changing how to finish my project as the black in my frame WAS black black. I bought this to avoid having to do the black thread in my project. Just as an FYI the DMC black thread is darker than this aida as I compared the two. With all of this being said, I do not regret my purchase and I would purchase again.
