Saviour's Gate: A scintillating novel of espionage and war: 3 (The Cold War Collection) (The Cold War Collection, 3) Paperback – 14 Mar. 2022

I picked up this book for my partner whose experience of the book was similar to that of the other person who has posted a review of this book, he felt that the book was too slow and he was constantly waiting for something to happen. However, I would completely disagree with this sentiment. I feel that the book was extremely cleverly written, cleverly portraying the lives of the various main characters and leaving s lot of what was happening to the reader's imagination. Having a knowledge and appreciation of the era and country in which the novel is set definitely helps your understanding of the plot. If you are after an easy read or a thriller with deaths and action on every page then this is not the book for you, political suspense with a clever ending is what is good about this book.

Very disjointed

I enjoyed "Special Relations" by Tim Sebastian so thought I'd try this one. Initially I found it rather disappointing as there seemed to be too many strands but the ending tied them all together nicely. Difficult to decide between three stars or four, but I'll be generous.
